I should clarify...not CLASS legal. I'm not sure if the series would let you run a race car with a 430 hp LS3 in EC but IMO would not.

I understand. Asking because work/life is getting in the way of completing the Z and anxiety to race is brewing.

Looking at this car, detuned of course but don't want to piss anyone off. https://www.racingjunk.com/NASA-American-Iron/183950816/1990-Ford-Mustang.html

If it's not viable I may go BRZ for now until I finish the Z. Thanks again for the reply.

Yes, the 465 rwhp LS-swapped Fox-body, lol.

Thought so, LOL. So what's the fastest EC car on ChampCar? Does detuning and rev limiting matter? I know I am beating a dead horse and will most likely get the BRZ for common ground sake, but curiosity is killing me. Not in it to win, just want to have fun.

Honestly, I think the fastest we've seen has been the Team Sahlens Cayman GT4./Cup. I "think" at Utah or Road America somebody ran a 911 GT3.

So maybe they'd let you run it in EC? I would think the speed differential would cause possible issues with less experienced racers.

Thanks for taking the time to reply @Snorman. How did it go when those cars were on the track, any issues? Who did they get approval from?

As I recall the Cayman was 2-3 seconds faster than our Cobra, so we didn't have a big speed differential, but not sure of other teams in the field. I'm pretty sure that Mustang would be quite a bit faster than the Cayman, lol.

I would check with @chisek or @National Tech

Well, work/life slowed the progress. Still putting some time into it but at my pace it will be 2021 before I get it done. Full story to date here.

Why would you detune it?

Now more importantly, tell us about the Z?

Just added a couple of pics to bring the build up to date. https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/128834-z-envy-race-car-champ-car-series/
