Earl
New to Champ series and building a car for the October Pittsburgh event. Progress going well but have hit a wall. Remove/disable the steering wheel lock has stalled us. We need advice/instructions/video on how to get this done. Thanks for any help. IPF Racing
Not sure how applicable this, but I know the Miatas only require a quick drilling into the ignition cylinder mount to remove a spring and mechanism. Might be similar for the mustang or at least worth checking out. Videos aplenty online.
thewheelerZ
On our Nissan Maxima we had the ignition and lock mechanism bolted to the steering column with screws that had no head/pattern. We used a dremel to slice a flat head slot into the bolt head and unscrewed it from the column. Subsequently moved it up to the dash bar and the locking mechanism is no longer anywhere close to even touch the steering column.
