If 225/45-15 will work I have 8 Hankook RS-4 takeoffs. Work fine on 7" rims.

Pretty sure this is what I am looking for.

5% smaller

15% wider should fit but will they work on a stock focus wheel? 6in?

Make sure you expect a front windshield!

Rules seem cool.   A Pontiac g6 gt could dominate this....

You all thought our rules need work, wouldn't a GT disqualify?

I'm gonna be riding 14's, you know for like rotating weight and stuff 🤣

Looks race-ready!

You doing a cage or just the 2x2 bar? I want a cage for 1. HANS 2. Was gonna make a Cage Gage youtube video - man it's going to be cutting it close on time LOL...

Cage? Are you insane? We just rebuilt still rebuilding the front 18 inches of the infiniti, overhauled the trans, had a hurricane scare and and...

Strip interior & muffler, hot wire the fuel cutoff, install 2x2, pull glass, chain doors, check water and get the go pro.

This is stupid

Did you ever get hold of the promoter?:P

Oh yea fo' sho' LOLLL

I did, sort of. Sounds like the promoter is the Rusty you know. I ended up getting a hold of Todd who is doing their marketing stuff. He said they are emphatic on no cutting of anything and want stock stock stock. Hope they are serious. Doing the 2x2 bar for this show might be the best/fastest route to go, if the car survives then go from there. Nice guy and was enthusiastic about the response they've gotten for the event. I encouraged more of the "cheap" shows to draw cars out. Cars draw fans. Explained that we were regulars years ago and just couldn't justify the out of control expenses.

Entry fee $50 for car/driver, he was unsure if there was going to be a different-than-normal gate fee for crew. I'd assume 20 or 25.

Is there a link to info for this event? I have a complete ‘99 neon R/T less a back window and soon to be throttle cable (for Champcar), that appears to be begging for this. I’ll put the cruise control on as I pass y’all on the back straight!

Sorry, event rules state only 1 neon per race, you must have missed that part

The rules that Ed posted above is literally the only info on it, you can find it on New Smyrna Speedway's website (maybe), a little easier to find on their FB page. I asked a few random questions the other day, most of which I posted above. Today I asked if it had to have a radio in the hole, I was told no, they wouldn't get that picky. Also, go check out the "Anything but Champcar" forum section, we started a post over there to talk about the shenanigans of this event.

Crawfish!!!!

The Neon has been outlawed at our local track enduros. 3 years ago they finished 1, 2, 3 and 5. Next race they started shotgun on the field an still finished 1 an 2. The next year.......outlawed.

Unfortunately this is a SOHC combined with a slushbox, but if we don't kill it, it could have a future as a Pure Stock/Gladiator car, in which I'd try to find a DOHC & manual for it!

Up in NC I have a few. Just got a DOHC auto car for chassis parts (paid 300 for whole car). I think it could run, never bothered trying.

The DOHC engine in 2.0 form is a little hard to find. They like to go boom at high rpms if no one looks after the oil control.....The SOHC is harder to kill, and has better low end power.

Getting a base model 4 lug car would be light, and you could bolt on the swaybars (the option owners who cared selected) from the decent models.

Egg out your strut bolt holes to add a ton of camber. You are gonna need it....

Poor RT, sort of deserves a better death.....like getting cut up into another road race car......

Imagine if there was an entry class to a endurance road race series targeting cars at this power to weight level...would be a cheap way to get out there.....

Image that, like an endurance race series with actually cheap $500 cars ($400 for this complete running example). Stock motors that run for 100+ hrs with little more than an oil pan baffle and the rest of the car is pretty good with new bushings/bearings and a few slotted holes. $100 street tires that pull 1+G’s, $20 rotors, $160 clutches, $40 calipers... maybe a catchy name and real competition without silly themes.
