Texas Venues for the Future?

Recommended Posts

Had a blast at Harris Hill this weekend. I heard rumors that more events will be held in Texas in the future to feed some of the middle Americans. Any truth to this? We don't have TWS anymore, sadly, but we do have great places like Cresson near Dallas, MSR in Houston and of course COTA (not sure if this will ever be financially viable for Champcar). If there was maybe one more event near the third coast I may be motivated to build the Miata in my garage into a racecar so we can run Love Racing as a two car team.

I've already got a wish list of parts going.... Don't let my wallet stay full!

Cost is between free and a million bucks.
we are still working on that. It will be up soon.

call, email, text, picket, buy the property next door and drill for oil, move your cattle through the property....
do anything to get them to answer the phone and give us a date.

I have a team of Champcar people pelting them with calls and letters haha.  I want to go there.  Actually I'd like to try Harris Hill, too.  I suspect it's a lot like Hastings which means a fun Miata track.

Hallet

I asked the boss about Hallet and was told no cause pits on infield but I have a solution to that, take a lunch break and then teams can run out for fuel.

No different then we do at Gingerman on Sunday.

Harris Hill usually sells out so be early. It's a great event. The D class is usually the slowest, A class used to dominate but seems like B class is the new hot thing.

Max speed is about 90-95 for most cars.

From what I understand with Eagles Canyon is that if we all showed up with Ferrari's or Lambo's, then they would welcome us with open arms. But since most racers in our group race real sports cars that are on the cheap end, well, you know.

Maybe one day they will except us, much like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Daytona International Speedway, and COTA have.

I am told that our schedule is done for 2020.
What is publicly shown are all events excluding West events as we are still working with those folks.

Didn't want to derail Texas thread with question about schedule somewhere else...

Maybe when they need money?

What about MSR-Houston? (Just curious about how they are to deal with)

There was a race at MSR Houston 2 yrs ago. Only 15 cars were there. Im guessing this is why we dont go there anymore. The race was in july iirc. Thats why it was such a low turnout in my opinion.

I recall many comments that it was more like a scheduling thing rather than lack of interest. Just what I heard on site.
