What are people doing, who are they getting them from, and how hard is recertification? I'm not saying this is a bad idea but it will be expensive and a PITA I suspect. Thoughts on sourcing? 3.9.1.4. EFFECTIVE 1/1/20 - On Board Fire Suppression Systems shall be inspected for recertification at least every two years after the date of original certification or as specified by the certifying manufacturer. When a unit is determined to be acceptable for continued service, a new conformance label marked with the inspection date shall be used. In-field recertification is permitted, but ONLY by the original manufacturer or its authorized agent. Mailing of certification labels to customers is strictly prohibited. Just make sure you don't list it as a fire extinguisher when shipping. I had a hard time getting it shipped until I just called it racecar parts. I have a 4L SPA and the system is $400 but the bottle seperatly is $250. Discovery parts has it in stock plus 10% off for Champcar members. I’ll buy it first of next year. I'm waiting till closer to the car is done though, since it'll just sit all winter anyway. When I got it back, they noted that they replaced the bottle for 0.00$ due to rust inside. Took like 2 days to get it back. I have hand delivered my bottle to BimmerWorld and they recertified it after two years as stated on the bottle. I will do the same in a few months when it comes due again.
