TFears
Why are you going with the engine you chose?

The engine in the car ran great for years, didn’t need anything and was sitting on a pallet ready to go. My team and I are proficient in m5x motors and my brother is proficient in the chassis. The car I have had for almost a decade taking up space. We really just put together what we had laying around.
TFears
Well, that is a simple enough reason. I am curious what kind of power it takes to be competitive in this series. That was why I asked. Trying to see if that was something you were thinking about when you picked an engine. I am currently starting to build a 323CI with the stock m52tub25. I doubt it will be fast enough to be very competitive but it seams like a reasonably straight forward chassis to start with as there are not that many points to play with so it keeps the mods down. I can always build another platform that has a lower VPI if I want to be more competitive down the road.

I would say that a car around 2500 pounds and 200 hp is right where a good team can be successful and win. Take that pwr and figure out how much hp you need for your weight. We have won a few races with our car being well below that target (150 whp with about 2300#) bit it takes a damn near perfect race.
