It's a new race season in a new decade.  Pack those heaters and gloves, we're off to Road Atlanta!

For being February, we've always been quite fortunate with the weather here.  Sure there has been some cold mornings, but its been dry and sunny most of the years.  Fingers crossed we're blessed with good weather again this year.  Read below to get some good info on the first event of 2020.

Gates - Gates will open at 5pm on Thursday for all teams.  Paddock parking is first come, first served but there is enough room for everyone.  Just make sure not to set up a 1/4 acre plot for your 1 car or I'll have to come ask you to shrink it down.

Tech - All cars will need to be tech'd for 2020 since this is essentially the first event of the year (except for you few lucky NYE racers).  Bring all your paperwork filled out and make sure you have read the rules.  Swap cars with no paperwork will likely be put in EC.  Tech opens at 6pm on Thursday and will run until 10pm.  Tech will reopen at 8am on Friday and run until 6pm.  Decals will be handed out at Tech and will be required to pass tech. Decal locations are shown in the BCCR appendix.  Speaking of rules....

2020 BCCR - There were very few updates to the rules for 2020 compared to 2019, however the one most likely to catch people off guard if they haven't read the rules is fire bottle certification.  Make sure the fire bottle in your car has a certification sticker within the last two years or it is not legal for use.   See 3.9.1.4. for detailed info.  While you're in there, it's also a good time to make sure your seat belts and window net are still in spec as well.

Discovery Parts - Once again our friends at Discovery Parts will have their race support trailer on site to help you pick up those last minute needs you forgot.   In addition to all the great driver and car gear you may need, they also can re certify HANS devices and can even certify some (not all) fire bottles.

Transponders If you entered a transponder number (or entered anything really) while you where registering we assume you're bringing your own.  Please verify that you have entered the correct number or that you reserved a transponder if you're not supplying your own.  If you use a subscription based MyLaps X2 transponder, make sure your subscription is current.  When your subscription ends, the X2 will not count laps!

Registration - Make sure you tech first, then bring your yellow logbook and tech sheet signed by us directly to registration.  Before you arrive, log in and check your driver roster for accuracy.  Make any corrections ahead of time.  If you are fully paid with the correct drivers, check-in is a 3 minute process.  If you are not coming (work issue, car issue, etc), email me to let me know you will not be there.

Novice School - For any first time road racers, we'll hold our novice school at 5pm on Friday.  The exact room will be announced in registration as this will be our first time using the brand new Michelin Tower!

Pit Assignments - Click here  for your pit assignments.

ChampCar.Live -  If you will have your own live feed to YouTube, Facebook, or some other site, please share your feed with us by filling out the LiveFeed form at

https://ChampCar.org/livefeed

You can share our live show with friends and family by using the www.ChampCar.live URL. That will take you to the ChampCar.live YouTube page.

A reminder: read through and print out the Supplemental Rules for this event here.

If you have any questions you can contact me here.

We're looking forward to seeing you all in Georgia!

That is not what the supps say. It says TBD. Everything else after that doesn’t matter.

:)

My boss said... Most likely the Club Paddock. so most likely is a TBD until we get final word from the track. So basically plan for the Club Paddock.

Short notice headed down to drive.

Anyone have a free or inexpensive place I can crash Thursday/Friday/Saturday night?  Spot in a trailer, couch in a house, whatever?

I have a 3rd bed in the RV you can use, or you can snuggle with preston on the couch your choice.

Will Discovery Parts or another vendor be present at the track?  Would like to check out some helmets in person.

I'd recommend taking the time to drive to their store. It's just 1 hour away to AMP from RA, if you're coming for the test day. They close at 5:30
