sporqster
I unfortunately have no pics or video of the crash, as the camera batteries were long dead at that point in the race... But I do have a first-hand account. Snoopy and I had been duking it out for a couple laps for the coveted 10th place trophy (oh yeah, there is no 10th place trophy) and coming into turn 7 Snoopy was on my outside. Somehow (I honestly do not know which of us were to blame) the rear of my driver's side door tagged Snoopy's front right wheel just entering turn 7 and we both went bouncing across the sand together into the tires. Luckily, we were both OK, and all the damage I got was some sand in the tires, and some body work which was easily fixed with a 2X4 and hammer. Unfortunately, I was high-centered on the tires and had to get pulled off, red flagging the race.We shook hands both on and off the track, I hope there are no hard feelings, I don't think there are. Part of me kicks my own butt that I got off the line to let Snoopy by a few laps later, costing us a top-ten finish, but I figured that if we wrecked again there was going to be some explaining to do. At that point it was also clear their car was putting more power down, as I was running out of fuel on the corners and thought I would just be causing trouble to try to stay in front of him anyway.I hope that the Red Barron and Dirty Escort will have another opportunity settle the score at a Chumprace in the near future.
Laze1
No problem from my end Dirty Escort...it was just a Racing Deal.My view of the incident: I took a different line than you entering and exiting T5, which got my car to your track-left/driver side door when you drifted track right exiting T5(you using the normal line). When you turned back track left to set up for T6, that is when we collided. I stayed as far track-left as I could without going off myself...but...Kablamo!As stated, it was a racing deal..and in hindsight...my move was a 'low-percentage success pass' as I would have ended up on the outside entering T6/T7...and that likely would not have worked very well for me...but I wanted to get door to door and try to pass in T7 or T8 or T9.... See you at the track in the future
