Rapido 732
Thank you once again to all the teams that made our inaugural ChampCar iRacing 7 Hours of Daytona such a great success. We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting more events in this style, starting this weekend on Sunday 19-April at Road America. The ever-popular event in Wisconsin has been sadly cancelled, but we hope we can bring some action to viewers in the ChampCar iRacing 6 Hours of Road America. Due to the short turnaround time before this event and the anticipated popularity, we advise you to sign-up quickly to secure your spots. Please see all event-specific details below, and please let me know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing another full grid of excited ChampCar racers! Important Information We have taken on-board all feedback received from the Daytona event and have made a few tweaks to the event setup that are detailed below. The Ford Mustang has been added as a third car class - roughly midway between the Cayman and Miata in pace and really fun to drive, this should add further spice to simulating the multi-car nature of the CCES An independent race control team will watch the action from the private race control Discord channel - they will not be drivers in the event and will have autonomy when reviewing incidents or deciding on when a full-course caution is required Protest procedure has been simplified and streamlined - during the race, your team can fill in this form to lodge a protest with race control, and they will review the incident at the next available opportunity to provide timely judgement and feedback The incident limit before the first drive-through penalty may be reduced due to both the shorter overall race distance and the hope that safer driving will be encouraged with the more immediate threat of a penalty - specific details will be confirmed prior to the race session Please note that we will be running the "Bend" config of Road America. Whilst not as challenging/dangerous as the faster "kink" layout, this is in line with the real-world event, and will bring a different challenge to beginner multiclass racing Team Registration Please reply to this thread in the following format: Team Name: Car Number: Class: Drivers: In addition, we are collecting information for use by our broadcasting crew on individual teams and drivers, so that we can be more informed when we talk about you on the stream! Please fill in the below form so that we can link your information to your team entry and make sure we know who you are! https://forms.gle/F7TbrQGXunFqkPWm6 Session Details Date: 19-April-2020 Classes: Porsche Cayman, Ford Mustang, Mazda Miata ND Track: Road America - Bend Practice Start: 10:00am (ET) Qualifying Start: 10:45am (ET) - Solo Qualifying, 4 laps Race Start: 11:00am (ET) Race Finish: 5:00pm (ET) Maximum stint time: 2 hours In-Sim Race Date: Sunday, 19-April-2020 In-Sim Race Start Time: 8:00am In-Sim Time Multiplier: 2x Weather: Auto-generated Setup: Open Fast Repairs: 2 Incident Limit Penalty Threshold: 30x/10x thereafter Full Course Cautions: Manual Control Enabled License Restriction: D/2.0 Useful Links Discord Server Guide to iRacing and Hardware How to create your own iRacing paints iRacing Tips and Resources Edited April 14, 2020 by Rapido 5
