This year I had to do Sonoma in the spring.  And in Sept I'm knocking out Indy.  I'll certainly consider it for next March, especially since it's now purportedly a lot smoother.

I spoke with them a couple of weeks ago. If it does not look like it will be completed, then they will replace the kerbing, and we will race on the old track surface.
Event director Mike Morrison lives close to the track and checks in from time to time.

Update from the track today is that they've got the construction crews working hard now so that the track will be ready in time for the race!

I'm not sure how I feel about this one, still on the fence.  In March the track had gotten so bad, as car owner I was quite relieved that it was to be the last Champcar weekend on that surface.  There was a noticeable difference between September 2019 (you thought it couldn't get worse) and March 2020.  Such great people and a great track, but it needs fixin'.

 

September sure sounds like a big ask for the scope of work and contractor uncertainties.  The surface may still need time to "cure" as well, I recall ECR holding off for quite awhile after completion, maybe for other reasons.  I'm no expert, I just don't like acting surprised when the writing was on the wall months before.

 

H2R, take all the time you need to do a proper repave with the right contractor.  In the meantime, Champcar, call an audible and let's hop over to MSRH.  Both of those are long overdue.

I drove ECR 2 weeks ago.  The track is smoother than COTA (June CCES race)!  Hope it can stay that way.  They put a lot of work into re-profiling and paving it.  We need to be racing there!  I hope H2R does some work for longevity and not just a top coat.

Just looks like an incorrect roster got inserted on this update.  If you click on the Entrant List it still looks good.
