We will be doing a show. So wash those dusty uniforms and practice your "Thanking your sponsors dialog" and don't forget to thank your mom!https://champcar.org/web/live.php Paddock: Due to limited space and a very cozy paddock, we have to limit the number of “big rigs” at the track. We have 8 spaces for larger RVs and Toy-Haulers and you must reserve a space in advance on a first come, first served basis. These will remain up top around the clubhouse parking area. You must also check in upon arrival and an H2R staff member will help you place your rig in the right spot. No single vehicle (Trailer or Tow Vehicle) measuring longer than 28 feet may remain in the paddock and adjacent grassy areas. Support vehicles may drop off fuel etc. to your paddock space and then return to the clubhouse area. For this the “driveway” must be used (absolutely NO driving in the grass is permitted except for parking on the south side of the “driveway”). No Parking in the “driveway” is allowed – it must be kept clear for support vehicle and pedestrian traffic. We’ll also have designated storage/parking for trailers or tow vehicles up top if you need more elbow room in the paddock. Please give Harris Hill a call at 512-667-6250 to reserve one of the RV spots or if you have any questions. HARRIS HILL ROAD HAS A SOUND LIMIT OF 85 dB as measured at the fence line. This limit is enforced by the City of San Marcos. Please address this issue before coming to the event. Regarding golf carts and race support vehicles, NO ONE UNDER 16 MAY DRIVE SUPPORT VEHICLES at Harris Hill Raceway. Entries for Harris Hill - SOLD OUT! ETR
H2R is always such a good weekend. The people, the relaxed atmosphere, the good racing, the lower cost, and now the SURFACE. I bet champ could fill a third race in the summer. We'd be there. Make it happen Bill.
QuaTTro
Agree I think this is the most underrated race of the series. High quality racing on a fun track with a relaxed atmosphere. The new surface is so good and every event is a blast!
racerfink
So, does the relaxation of the mask mandate in Texas change things for this race?

Since most of our staff is coming from all over the USA, I would suggest using common sense. I will be masked up. ChampCar follows the CDC recommendations. QuaTTro
I dropped by Harris Hill over the weekend to hang out and check on the recent work to the retention pond in the center of the track. Looks like they'll be working hard all week to get it finished before the race. It's such a big pond that we will no longer have to deal with a "river" running across the track in turn 8 (Dam turn) anymore. That said, the track mgmt was clear that nobody will be allowed to load in on Thursday and everyone will have to wait until Friday. I believe in the past they have let some teams come it a day early to setup and camp out, but that won't be possible this race due to the work being performed at the facility. Just wanted to give a heads up so that nobody gets stuck outside the gate if they arrive Thursday. Looking forward to racing with you all this weekend! Thanks for the heads up, that is good info that shapes our Thursday plans. I hope they draw a hard line on that though. Bet the south side of the paddock will be full of trailers when the gate opens Friday.

Yeah when I pressed them on it they claimed they would be drawing a harder line than usual. I get that it's hard to turn someone away, but the reality is that the track is closed right now and they are all hands on deck getting the facility ready for the race. When I was there Sunday I watched 8 tractor trailers come and go continuously hauling dirt away. It was pretty insane how much dirt they were hauling but I'm excited for the new retention pond and how that'll help the racing surface during rain races. For better or worse my team flat tows the car so we don't have a trailer or anything we need to put in our pit stall. I'll just post up on the wall closest to the track. Administrators Bill Strong Posted March 8, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 8, 2021 Please make certain to read the 2021 BCCR. We had a handful of people at VIR that thought their cars were up to date because the had all of the 2017 stuff done to the car. I may be exaggerating a wee bit. But not by much. https://champcar.org/web/rules.php Cars need DASH BARS added to the cage. Not the OE bar that supports the dash, but a real 1.5" x .095" minimum dash bar welded between your cages A-pillar bars. Teams have been warned for the past 1.5 years that the bar would be required on January 1, 2021. And if your reply as to why you don't have a dash bar is because your dash is in the way, or that ABCD does not require it, why do you, you will just get a blank stare back by the Tech Inspector, the Marketing / Safety Guy, and/or the event director. I will have a new set of sponsor panels on site. If you do not have the 2021 sponsor panels installed, you will need to remove your old set. The new set has 2 new sponsors, and is the same height as the ChampCar number panel. It will fit over last years sponsor panel if removing your old one will peel the pain off. I will be in San Marcos on Thursday if you have any questions. You can also contact Chelsey Vickery who is the preferred point of contact for the event.
