wvumtnbkr
Good day! I have a lifepo4 battery I would like to run in the racecar. Anybody know where I can get adapters from the "motorsports" style battery terminals to standard automotive style terminals? In other words, going from like a squarish terminal to a round terminal. Thanks!
Technical Advisory Committee Chris Huggins Posted November 11, 2020 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted November 11, 2020 Something like this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XH69MY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I would highly suggest you switch to a standard lug-end and just screw it down with the included hardware. 1

I would like to be able to switch batteries to a standard automotive battery in case there are issues. That is probably what I need. Thanks! Or you can use these style on the "backup" battery. https://www.amazon.com/Shoreline-Marine-Battery-Terminal-Kit/dp/B07NQLK321 1

I realize I am adding a potential failure point. Once I am "comfortable" with the lifepo4 battery, I will probably just run the "standard" hardware. I think they are more heat sensitive, on the NC miata the battery gets barbequed by the headers and hot air from the radiator. But this is just a theory. Curious what you find it.

We put ours in the passenger floor board. No issues. Not even an HD, I think it's just an 8 cell motorcycle battery. I could see lithium not being happy in a hot engine compartment. AntiGravity makes adapters that screw into their batteries that is shaped like a normal lead battery lug. Edit: I couldn't get the link to open on my phone for a while, but the first thing Huggy posted is basically what the AntiGravity post adapters look like. turbogrill
Downside is you look less cool when you carry a lithium battery, with the 50lbs lead acid battery you felt like a man. A barbie doll is more heavy than a lithium battery....

Yeah, I think that's what the NASCAR boys use. I've seen 'em swap batteries during pit stops after an alt. failure. Called Anderson connector. https://www.andersonpower.com/shop/wire-to-wire/sb.html
