333 Kinkle
I am up for the challenge of swapping directions. Never did it. I have not ever driven this course either. I understand turn 9 is a.

Luckyontheducky
I voted same way (clockwise, of course) both days. Further complicating a race weekend is a recipe for some kind of disaster, large or small! Also, everyone should realize that since pit/paddock are in the infield, you CANT LEAVE until the days racing is over.
racerfink
Counter-clockwise is a much better configuration, in my opinion.
turbogrill
One year they did odd car numbers go counter-clockwise and even numbers go clockwise. Was a lot of fun!
Administrators Bill Strong Posted March 19, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 19, 2021 Same direction both days per the event director. We discussed times that we would go full course yellow, pit lane closed, allow people to leave the track, and then back to green. We think we have the process down. Now we just need to sort out the times. Will post more when I get that.
333 Kinkle
If you are wondering about going to Hallett. I went to track day last Thursday. Track is fun. First time there. Put all my testing on YouTube. It was cold. It rained. It was sunny. Plan on see you in May. Ask me anything here to help. Only 24 signed up plenty of room on the track to race. Lots of elevation changes and blind corners. Track follows the land. Holiday inn in Sand Springs was nice. Good breakfast. Closest nicest thing to the track and 30 min. away. Walmart and food all around the hotel. Check out the history of the track. Been around since the 60s. Rich kid built a track and drove well in his career. See the links below. More on YouTube. Rented a Garmin Catylisis. Great tool with no coach in the car with you. This is the videos. Administrators Bill Strong Posted March 30, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 30, 2021 From VIR, Hallet is only an 18-hour drive. 13-Hours from Road Atlanta. 10-Hours from Indy. 8-Hours from Harris Hill. 6-Hours from St. Louis. And 3-hours from the Chickasaw Nation. Myself, tech, and timing will be driving out to Hallet from around the VIR area. Road trip!

Administrators Bill Strong Posted April 21, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted April 21, 2021 Hallett have just completed 8 new RV parking spots with FULL hookups (electric, sewer, water) that are now also available to rent for $75/day. Tech will be in the open air raceport. Look for the CCES Tech flags. Registration will be inside the tower on the first floor. No masks are required, but we would like social distancing.
Luckyontheducky
Will there be any change to the prohibition of visitors/spectators contained in the supplemental rules?
enginerd
57 minutes ago, Luckyontheducky said: Will there be any change to the prohibition of visitors/spectators contained in the supplemental rules? The CEO posted this earlier this month in the Watkins Glen thread, it may answer your question but it is somewhat specific to Watkins Glen: I keep pushing this out, and it is important to remember this detail. ChampCar does not ever allow spectators. We are insured as a member-only club. We have no coverage for spectators, and if our event is classified as a spectator event the track rental fees increase dramatically because the track has to meet their insurance requirements for spectators. So spectator is a bad word. We can allow visitors to purchase a one-time membership for the event weekend. This does allow friends, family, etc entry into an event and meets the insurance requirement for membership. I know it seems like just a wording thing, but it's an important detail to ensure we remain in compliance with our insurance contract. For the Watkins Glen race, we have very specific guidance from the track stating that every one attending the event must be registered, in advance as a driver or crewmember on a team. ChampCar has to provide a complete list of all participants prior to the event, pulled directly from that registration list. This is the written directive we have from the track. If that changes we will provide an update, but this is what we are currently operating under. Dana 1

Administrators Bill Strong Posted April 29, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted April 29, 2021 After a meeting with the event director it was decided that once the green flag drops, the race will continue uninterrupted unto the checkered flag when the track will open back up. So bring everything you need for an endurance race event.
