333 Kinkle
Anyone can tell me how well they wear. I like the RS4 because they will last a week end.
scottyk
I haven’t seen the tire to be very competitive in all metrics against the BS, YOKO or Hankook. 2
Administrators Bill Strong Posted March 19, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 19, 2021 Two cars on the podium at Harris Hill were using them. They liked them, and they seem to have lasted all weekend. They were the s2 versions on Miatas.

dirtybird222
Maybe these work better on RWD vehicles. On our FWD car they made the car feel like they were plowing through gravel at Daytona and Sebring and maybe good for one 14 hour race. But his podiums were at Sebring with fields that were not weak in a car that is pretty fast and a bit heavy.
Jamie
ran these tires at seca and they felt so much better then the rs4. I realllllly dislike the RS4s, its too bad they are so durable.

We did the WRL Sebring 24 Hour and the Champ Sebring Double 7s on the same set of RS-4s and they still have lots of life left. 1
mender
I never tried the R-S3s, only the R-S4s. What's the difference and what don't some people like about R-S4s?

mender
"I haven't driven RS4 myself yet but I've done plenty of reading. The compound is unchanged from the RS3 so they will wear similar and have similar heat tolerance but they updated the tread pattern and sidewall construction to provide better wet performance, improved feel and improved turn-in and transitional response.Based on regional and national level autocross results last year, they're about half a second faster per minute than the RS3 and about half a second slower than the RE71r or Rival-S." ManhattanMcC
Going off the ~6ish hours day 1 and ~5ish hrs day 2 at Sebring we had both tires in action. We were seeing around 1 sec per lap pace advantage to the Maxxis vs the RS4 across all 4 of our divers on Green Laps. It anecdotally appeared to be faster wear and we suspect greater pad consumption, but that may also have been a bit of "Car's dinged up let's just send" tactical boost for day 2. There were also split impressions on which felt "better", they were certainly different. I personally really liked them & will be fitting them going forward. I'm not sure if all 4 would survive the 14 @ Daytona so still having a think on that.
