tdrain4
I got a 99 neon SOHC. Turns over, kinda slow. Sometimes it just clicks, then will turn over, but slow. New battery. With jump pack on it also. Also not getting spark or fuel. New cam and crank sensors. Have 8 volts to those sensors. Any ideas? Im going to try and clean and check grounds tomorrow, but not sure where they are all at so might miss something. The car is stripped down to cab and frame,so no interior or anything. Thanks
tneker
if you are having issues with slow crank with plenty of battery that would certainly warrant a look at the grounds as you mentioned. We have also chased electronic issues relentlessly only to determine that a connector was bad. Twice now we have had an alternator connector fail with no obvious damage, obviously this isn't an alternator issue just providing context. ASD fuse and relay is also something worth poking around at - https://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t=290334

Thanks Sounds like a starter or something more serious (something is tight inside) If the engine isn’t turning over fast enough you may not get any spark or fuel. Try a new starter first. Black Magic
https://forums.neons.org/viewtopic.php?t=304695 Check you grounds. Make sure the ECU has a ground (by headlight on most years).
