Potential new tracks mentioned on meeting

Recommended Posts

The Virtual Meeting thread is so deep in tires and budget discussions I didn't want this to get buried...

The attached slide caught my attention.  Can you share who these "potential multiple new tracks" might be?  Champcar already seems kinda dense to the east, so could this mean more action for TX, LA, OK?

TX, LA, OK would make a fine regional championship, hint hint.

  • No LDRL, No AER
  • NASA and SCCA enduro efforts have been non-starters
  • WRL has gone to the moon upmarket
  • Lemons is around, but Champcar drivers are typically looking for a different experience and the cars have grown quite different
  • Would love to see ECR, MSR Cresson, MSR Houston, or NOLA added.  A Harris Hill style hot pit can be used where needed.

Even if you can't tell me which tracks, could you be looking in this direction?

Modified race formats-

Many years ago we had a Sunday race at Road Atlanta- it was only a four hour race, but the format was a little different.

You needed 4 driver stints- minimum stint length was 30 minutes, max was 2 hours.  With this format, there could be two 4 hour races on a Saturday with at least 1 hour between (or two hours) races to work on cars.  It was a bunch of fun.

Troopers in the pits and starter stand observing and writing tickets. Sounds like a good time.

AND seat belts can not be more then 2 yrs old, regardless of date.

The worst part? Those folks move here, to Fl, all the time to get away from the crazy, only to bring the same ideas with them when voting...

we race there all the time in the other league, no issues whatso ever....over 100 teams.  I've never seen a Trooper in the pits. The seatbelt thing is a joke, however a lot of racing bodies require that same rule. That's because asshats leave their cars out in the rain/snow/sun year round and the webbing can get suspect.

Thankfully It’s a matter of enforcement, that’s on them To ignore their own laws or not.

fortunately we don’t have to make that decision, too much travel, if we’re going to do,  It would  be walkins.

I have heard plenty of complaints from other racers( in the other series)some who frequent NJMP regularly.  they have become a bit numb to the extra scrutiny and have reported speeding tickets given out in the paddock area. If this is the attitude on private property I surely don’t want to be towing through on public roads either. Not worth the hassle.

Where was it announced, Facebook?

I noticed the Twitter hasn't been updated since June and Instagram in May. I didn't see any posts here on the forum.

I guess FB must be good for the Boomers, but what about the rest of us? And why are our social media feeds so dead?
