Martinsville.  Oh man, I keep pushing. One day.

The schedule is not complete. Once complete I will make a PDF version and post that. One venue is complete with contract in hand, but we are still working some stuff on our end. And our event directors are still working on about three additional venues. maybe 4. I forget.

I would happily pay COTA level entry fees to line up at Martinsville. #justsayin......

I keep telling the boss that many many people would build a car specifically for this race. Me included!
But the "gentleman drivers" poopoo over any and all talk of manly-roundy-round endurance racing.

I'd bring the e30 and run EC. that car would be a monster at Martinsville......and as an added real bonus it's been mistaken for an xfinity car sound-wise with its current exhaust setup when we had it out at COTA right after the NASCAR race.....awwww yiiisssss

a guy can dream right!?!?!?

This is Oval Endurance Racing........

no that's oval destruction derby........

NASCAR at Daytona is a 3.5-4 hour race depending on cautions......so pretty much endurance racing....

Why all the hate on something different? It's not hard to like both road and oval. I mean it's insane that those guys bump-draft at 200 mph. That's kookie enough at 80 in our HH miatas....

Sure its a different thing than road racing, and maybe not for everyone, but I have a hard time believing CC wouldn't immediately sell out one of the most iconic tracks in US Motorsport history....

You will see a pretty distinct regional cutoff for a race like that. Seems the people north of the mason-dixon line really don't like the idea of roundy-round racing. But you get south of that line, and the likelihood of a member wanting a race like that increase 200 fold (just like a neon hitting a tire wall at 60mph).
I once asked a bunch of racers in the Road America garages what they thought of doing a race at Martinsville, and after I pointed out on a map where that was with pictures, they about put me in a vat of boiling cheese and brats.
You ask the same question at VIR, you start getting facebook friend requests, hand shakes, hell ya's, "wanna date my sister" requests...

It's weird.

So are some of the sisters.

Sounds like about as good of an idea as the Chumpcar stock car series, or whatever the name of it was supposed to be.

Not that it's a bad idea, but how much crossover is there really, kinda like the semi truck racing, or ice racing, or whatever other spin-off Condren dreamt up.

(as a joke I once told me teammates that Condren was going to start a Chumpcar spin off for racing pigeons and they actually thought he would :D )

I'm not saying don't give it a try. If it turns a profit do it more than once. I know two things about ovals the chance of getting hurt increases and the cost of crash damage increases. If you hit the safer barrier and end up unhurt when you get the bill for the wall repair that will hurt.
