Rapido
Getting into season crunch time, and it couldn't be closer at the top with championship rivals Mark McCormack and Alex Albert tied on points. The tight and technical confines of the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park will ensure a close race with little margin for error, but on the plus side, at least we won't send you a massive bill for any damage caused to the safety barriers. Good news is that the iRacing NC is still running under the 2021 ruleset and has been unaffected by any VPI increase so no change to fixed set-up or initial fuel. mostmint
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Well the engine didn’t blow up. Worst finish since my second race ever in this league. On to Sebring! Edited November 4, 2021 by mostmint

At 7 laps down with a mangled up car I saw you were close on the track so I tried to at least have a race with you but couldn’t even get that done. I think I was only 1 lap down, but after a car dive bombed Charles K and I into turn 5 on lap 2, I had wheel damage. 3-wide into turn 5 will never work out well when the car on the inside tries to out brake the other 2. I tried to make it back the pits while staying out of the way, but ended up spinning. Made it to the pits and forgot to recheck my fast repair, so I had to limp around another lap to pit. I was off the pace anyways. I don't think my throttle is using 100%. I had a similar issue with my brake pedal not releasing, unless I tapped the brakes. Like the opposite of pad knock-back. I cleaned the potentiometers on both the gas and brake, but now they aren't hitting 100%. I've tried recalibrating, but something else isn't right. Oh well, on to Sebring. Amazes me how many times mechanical problems affect drivers.

Rapido
Fun to make my first (and likely only) appearance on the grid for this season. Haven't really been racing regularly over the last year or so but I really enjoy this track so wanted to come out and have some fun. Decent qualifying spent largely re-learning the car. Made up a couple of places on Lap 1 largely by avoiding the carnage in T7-8 (despite the best efforts of Nick "Grosjean" Love): https://streamable.com/0np7ob Had a fun battle with Mr @Hurljohn in the first half of the race as we worked to catch Keith. Then I pit and took far too much fuel (haven't set up JRT or Crew Chief again yet) so rejoined with Keith and had another fun tussle. Unfortunately, that slowed us down to the point where Mr Love was able to catch us again and then there was some more tight racing. Unfortunately the fun ended 2 laps from the end when I stuck a nose into an ambitious gap and duly got it chopped off. https://streamable.com/gd3l6y Had I been a bit less rusty/more prepared then I think a 4th place would have been achievable, but still fun to be out there lapping with you guys again. Thank you all for continuing to support the series, and I hope I can bring you exciting news about our 2022 plans soon.

I felt pretty good that I was blameless on the lap 1 incident but for our incident I think I was so focused on trying to get a run on Keith that I didn’t anticipate you putting a nose in. I’d put that blame more on myself since you did present pretty early there. I owe you a beer if we ever meet up at the same race.
