Questions for BOD Nominees - Organizational Transparency

For each Nominee, please answer the following questions:

 

1.  Do you think that there is an issue with how the organization reports meeting minutes, decision making processes etc? Similarly, are you aware that as an organization, Champ-car is not operating as they are required to by law?

 

2. If yes, What do you think needs to be done to correct the issues?

There seems to be some transparency issues that come up. When a decision is made a follow up as to why should come out at the same time. Radiator rules, VPI changes, safety rules etc. Shouldn't take much effort to do this. I would think it would be an easy fix the CEO, BoD & TAC just need to communicate with it's members. Not doing this makes people loose their trust. If elected I would do my part to see that this opens up.

I think there is and have stated that in the past. This is one of my main goals, if I get on the board, is to help with it. I would like the the minutes and notes person and I do that in my daily job. Then make a report to be public and be able to answer questions as needed and clarify if needed. Our Bylaws say this has to happen and I think it needs to happen.  I would be happy to step up and be that person.

I will address the transparency issue.  We have tried in the past to be more transparent, but (and not to throw the deceased under the bus) Doc stopped keeping track of minutes and posting them.  Then he died.  Tiffany is trying to pick up his work and is getting things posted.  It's a time-consuming job, perhaps one of the new Board members will want to be the club secretary if Tiffany doesn't want it.
