Quote My hats off to JR Pesek. He built Ozarks to be one of a kind and I believe he succeeded. It's a beautiful facility in a very beautiful part of the country. It's fast, technical very smooth, plenty wide and demands total respect and focus. You won't learn this track in a few laps but when you get it all put together Ozark will deliver a driving experience like no other anywhere. It's definitely a " Big Boy" track. Quote from Ted Johnson via Facebook. ref: NASA 1st Drive event November 2021 Quote ... It's a roller coaster ride. I never thought skid plates would be required in any road course but both mustangs you see were bottoming out on the aptly named "roller coaster" complex. Amazing track. Quote from Bryan Cohn via Facebook ref: NASA First Drive Event November 20216 Quote ... again video skews the view, it’s got more runoff that what you see in any video. Track width is between 36ft and 55ft. Tire walls have not yet been completed (as of November 2021) so what you’ve seen and what we saw aren’t the finished product. If you’ve raced Road America from the Kink to Canada Corner without complaint or Watkins Glen or Gateway then you’ll have no issue with the Ozarks. Like any track it has a few spots that demand respect. Entries for The National Championship in the Ozarks Limited to 100 entries

55mini
Right there with you Rob, 150 has 19 points as well and as you say 84 place! At least the 5 car is in at 4 points. @mcoppoladon't get too excited yet as there are still some races yet to count. We did some numbers and think the cut off will be about 14 points but sure hope your good at 18. Track looks a hoot and the gang is really excited to run this race!

Heck I’m just happy to see our car in some results statistics instead of sitting in the garage being worked on!

Oh FSPVFF is Focus Season Points Value Fudge Factor.
Hugh Jass
@Bill Strong I see that you said it is two separate races, does that mean no parc fermé for the cars racing for the championship?

I believe that is correct. I don't believe there was a Parc ferme at road America earlier this year.
Hugh Jass
Thanks @wvumtnbkr as a purist I liked the old days when they impounded them on pit road. It would also keep our mechanics from having to work all night to freshen up the cars. I can see the benefits to doing it this way too. Should be an exciting weekend.
Administrators Bill Strong Posted November 9, 2021 Author Administrators Report Share Posted November 9, 2021 I like the parc ferme. It rewards people that make cars last and teams that plan. the fastest have a harder time. Two sprint races don't reward endurance.
enginerd
I also like parc ferme. The 2018 Championship had this format. Bring it back!

The 2018 Championship had this format. Bring it back! The 2016 East Coast Championship was amazing. I remember Sunday morning in the drivers meeting everyone was told if they did not have the correct sponsor decals on the car they would be DQ'd in post race impound, and the only work allowed on the car would be to apply sponsor decals prior to the race. Using about 20 sponsor decals, we were able to make several critical repairs needed to make it through the day. At the end of the event, the decals had held up and the car took the checkered. 1

Jamie
I like parc ferm because it means I dont have to work on the car Saturday night. I hate parc ferm when I actually need to work on the cars between days. I don't know what value it brings? Make the race more like a 14? What I do like is Sonoma's lunch break. wvumtnbkr
I'm mixed on Parc ferme. I like not working on the car. I also like not working on the car DURING a race. I guess I'd be happy either way.
Hugh Jass
I would hope that ChampCar would allow you to work on the car Saturday if you had to but remove you from the championship, it would suck but you would be able to race the next day. If anything major your out of the running anyway. Besides we can change an axle in a normal pit stop and thats what normally breaks for us........ Three minutes and forty seconds to be exact if we limp back to the pit box. I'm the wrench and would love to see it run as a Parc ferme!!!! Bring it!
