Fanatec Inverted pedals?

So my old Logitech G25 bit the dust a couple of weeks ago (seems power isn’t getting to the force feedback motors so it won’t boot up).  I had been toying with the idea of blowing a wad of $ on Fanatec gear but it’s on back order through ‘til Jan so it will be a dull off season.  :(

I was thinking of getting the inverted pedals so I could practice heel & toe (at which I suck in real life).  Reasonable thing to do or should I save my money and get the more arcade like non-inverted ones since the skill doesn’t cross over?

I noticed a distinct improvement in my heel/toe after practicing in the sim with a decent set of pedals (ProtoSimTech PT1). Actually, it's safe to say that heel/toe is now an afterthought while driving. You're really just looking for a way to develop muscle memory. Once you get back in the real car, brake modulation will probably need some work. But that becomes much easier to focus on when you have the other aspects of the heel/toe worked out.

As for Fanatec. I've had reliability issues with my Fanatec shifter. And as a result, I got to deal with their infamous customer service department. No more Fanatec for this guy. I'm sure you'll find a number of people that are happy with their products though.

Agree with B-Rad, Fanatec is a frustrating company - great design, terrible customer service, suspect build quality. I upgraded my rig last December - Fanatec wheel and gear shifter, Heusinkveld pedals and rig. I've had no issues at all with Heusinkveld, they delivered the product in days, the pedals have worked flawlessly. Fanatec took 2 months to deliver the original order, after installing the the gear the Fanatec wheel display went bad in a few weeks and had to wait another 4 weeks for the RMA to come in. Then the shifter kept randomly thinking I shifted to 2nd when in fact physically it was in 4th slot (see VIR race when I blew up the engine on the back straight). I took the shifter apart and cleaned off some excess grease, recalibrated and the last few weeks it's been better. But holy crap for the price you'd expect a quality product not some cheap Chinese crap.

First hand experience with Fanatec tells me I would not buy their products again.  After two months noticed the load cell input was twitchy and the "optional" brake performance kit is not really optional if you expect the brake pressure to remain the same if you don't move your foot.  And they won't sell me spare parts either.  I didn't do enough homework before purchasing.  Grrr.

Edit:  they did send me a replacement

@mostmint if it's the load cell you are trying to purchase spares for (they do fail) I've heard from friends that there are acceptable replacements on eBay that are marketed as load cells for bathroom scales. I don't have a part number or any more help that that but if you can find them they should be a couple bucks versus the $20 each I had to pay to Fanatec back when they still sold spares. The sort of funny thing is, even when they sold spares, you were limited to three per customer, not per order per person forever. Crazy.

I will second the above mention of ProtoSimTech pedals. Made right here in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I have had zero issues which is a huge difference from the constant problems I had with Fanatec throttle losing it's configuration and not reading full throttle.

I know I'm late to the party here but I have these exact pedals and really like them. I know there are people complaining about the customer service but I haven't had to deal with that myself...fortunately. I've had the pedals for 2 years now and haven't had any major issues, the brake pedal was getting some false readings but I cleaned out the dust and downloaded their software and it was fixed. Regarding the heel toe, I haven't done that much because iRacing lets you cheat but the pedal positioning is good for it. I would just get some dedicated sim shoes
