paulstreet
I have a question. We recently built a E46 330. It starts as a 530 point car and yes we knew that when we built it. When we were deciding to build the car the pink 35 had not become the normal way to handle situations when the field needs to be slowed down. We knew the car was a 530 point car but with double yellow flags if you get lucky and the field bunches up behind the pace car its not too hard to make up a lap or 2 . With the new pink 35 making up laps has become much harder. Yes we can build a 325 but the rules and the way the race is ran has changed since we did our research and made the decision on the car but the car still has the 3 penalty laps. In the rain at Barber we finished 5th overall because of the terrible conditions made passing easy but not so much on Sunday in the dry. I wonder if the VPI for cars over the 500 points should be re evaluated because the pink 35 is the normal now and thus harder to make up laps.

Sorry I do not think you are going to gain any traction from the "pink 35" angle

I have yet to drive in a race with a code 35, I run almost exclusively in the 'midwest'. Edited December 20, 2021 by enginerd
