Pretty light entry so far.  Great track, fun, races very well.  Today is last day for the early entry discount!

What's keeping people from entering?

Concerns for area/track not being recovered from the tornados?   Slacking on the car prep?  Can't get drivers lined up?  (that is my current position, only 2/4 confirmed)

Was wondering the same.  Super fun and challenging track.

How close is the track to reopening?  I know they took a big hit during the tornado.  I wasn't sure if they were going to back in action in time for our race.

Their facebook page says they are hosting events.  Apparently the building damages didn't keep them from running cars on track.

The track is good. It's the building that was hit. Heck, we ran Gingerman with Andy under an easy-up sitting beside the track running timing and scoring last year. So all we need is a track surface.

We aren't able to race this year, but was hoping to come up for the test day and get tech's before Daytona. I e-mailed the race director last week and haven't heard back.

I've heard of others doing this, what is the process?

I did that two years ago, I don't remember there being much to it other than letting the race director know and signing up with the track.  You will be glad you went through tech while you are there so you don't have to wait in the long line at Daytona.

$500 ($450 early reg) for a one day test is tough to justify for most teams. I wish they were a bit more affordable, but the track makes that call.

Most prices have gone up in a big way at most venues now.

It's a bit scary

Cant do that anymore with the new tech system. You have to wait until you get to Daytona. You should sign up for NCM though. :)

If this is true, its a major issue with our system.

I just emailed Dana.

This benefits everyone by moving tech from a busy event (IE Road Atlanta/Daytona/WGI when the tech line is 13 hours long) to a smaller event.

A 50% increase is more than just inflation. I don't get what they are doing, they will have much less participation which will more than offset the increased money they are bringing in with the additional entry fee.

Any chance Discovery Parts will be at NCM?

I want to get a new 2nd pair of gloves and would love to do a hand-off on fire system that is coming up on re-cert time to save on some shipping hassle.

Kentucky Grand Prix at NCM Motorsports Park update:

We just wanted to update you on the conditions we will be working with at NCM due to the recent tornado.

There are many buildings that are fenced off that are awaiting demolition. These are NO GO ZONES. It has been made very clear that NO ONE is allowed to go in the fences /buildings. They will give you the boot off the property. No exceptions.
