Administrators Bill Strong Posted December 29, 2021 Administrators Report Share Posted December 29, 2021 We are starting to see hot and cold pitlane clothing requirements by tracks in 2022. Autobahn Country Club and Sebring International Raceway will require long pants (I don't think capris will work) and closed-toe shoes on both sides of the wall along the pit lane at ChampCar events. This requirement does not care how hot the weather is. It's now a rule at these two tracks and is in our contracts. Sebring stated it was due to insurance requirements. Bill Strong recommendation, which is in no way a recommendation by ChampCar BOD, the rules makers, the BCCR, or staff. I would suggest bringing long pants to other events. Mainly because if two tracks insurance companies are requiring them, then I am willing to bet that other tracks will as well. At least you will have them handy, and won't get caught having to run to Walmart, Target, or chubstr to get some cheap trousers. The supps will be updated to reflect the track requirements. But sometimes we don't find out until we get to the track. So please, be prepared.
