wvumtnbkr
I didn't do anything to it. Still for sale! I did work on the rx8 and got the passenger side exhaust manifold tacked up!
tneker
Decided to save ~15 lbs and give a Braille battery a try. Opted to fab up a mounting bracket versus buying one of the overpriced options. Edited January 1, 2022 by tneker

We laid ours on its side and boxed it since it’s in the interior.

TimS
Haven’t had the car out of the trailer in a few months but I did finish pad and grading for my new shop. No more half a two’ish car garage shop. Move and shop construction has slowed down the racing unfortunately.
mender
I've been using a 350 CC garden tractor battery for the last few years in the Civic. Don't know what the weight is but it's reasonable and so was the price.

Fetterhund
Finished the race car a couple days ago. Had a test day at a local track. Small group, had some time on track with other cars, included an E36 setup for LDRL. I was pleased with how the E39 compared to the E36. All told managed to get approximately 2 hrs of on track time, 1 hour of it one continuous stint. A few things to tweak, and some driving improvements to make. Live stream setup worked perfectly. Very happy with car.

revvhappy
Finally finished an aero package that's based on the OE bumper cover. Quick-release splitter with Home Depot garden edging. Receivers for the light bar welded to the bumper and a trailer plug wired in for the headlights. Sparco tow strap. Almost ready for Road Atlanta. I don't know either, but I like it in this car, it fits the top perfectly. I have to shimmie along and move the dies slightly to get a lesser radius but this would require emence patience, if it would work at all with my stuff.. wvumtnbkr
A tube roller, not a bender. As mender suggested.

I have a tubing roller with a harbor freight pipe threader as a drive system. After a screw up, (I haven’t quite figured out the unbending part/tool) I made the decreasing radius bend in 5-6 passes, so it’s pretty good for 1.75”x.095” stuff. Roll tube, then into a standard bender, then a little twist before the next bend. I have a swagoffroad air/hydraulic attachment for a JD model 32 bender, it’s been a nice addition instead of bolting to the ground, etc. https://www.swagoffroad.com/SWAG-Tubing-Roller-HULK_p_89.html. 8
Technical Advisory Committee mcoppola Posted January 10, 2022 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted January 10, 2022 @BeastZ06That's what I figured. It's just that you don't see rollers used much for cage building. That's some nice fitting work! As@Ray Francknoted, the rolled tube fits really well with some of today's rounded arches in car bodies. That may be a tool worth adding to the arsenal... Thanks for sharing.
jakks
260 race hours on our motor, so it was time for a new/rebuilt one. Also tackling some much needed replacement schedule items that have been put off because of various issues along with updates to our front aero. Should be all buttoned up and ready for Road Atlanta by the end of this weekend. We'll try and remember to get a windshield banner put on too...........

Yeah it is, right around 100ft of tubing, so about 160lbs with 1/8” backing plates. I haven’t measured everything out though. I’m just trying to get it on the track. I can always chop it up later. petawawarace
Made a fixture tool and drilled both motors for dowels. The crank already had one dowel hole, so I just matched the other two locations. Need to machine the flywheel to accept the 3 dowels, but that’s easy to do in the mill.
