I was wondering hwo does everyone find pit crew for events, like any facebook groups, or any tips? I want to plan to race soon my region/area being Kentucky, but just unsure how to find pit crew.

Crew? We are a team of 3 drivers who do everything.

There is a place on the main champ page,as well as the champcar Facebook page if you want to reach more folks.

Recruit from dads / adult kids / wives / girlfriends if you really need some extra hands. We have done a race or two like Team Infiniti with just the drivers as crew and nobody else, but we normally have a couple people helping out.

We have one dedicated crew member who does fuel. Thanks Decal. He is a volunteer and a great guy. He is a good friend of one of our drivers. I have done all of our races with 3-4 drivers and Decal. First event we ran was just 3 of us. Thankfully our pit neighbors helped us with pit stops. Lots of drivers will crew to drive and or bring help to drive. Post the event your planning and you will get people wanting to help/drive.

If you've got a couple drivers I wouldn't sweat it.  Only so many people can fit around a car and I'd much rather have 3 motivated smiling people than 6 turds moping around anyways.

We typically have 4, (drivers included) participating in a stop but have done 3 plenty of times.  With CC's 5 min minimum and driver-change-only-when-fueling, I feel like there's not much difference anyways.

The only time I have had a problem is when it is a long or very hot event. Driving and running the pit stop can be tough if the next driver has to help. 4 works best but don’t hesitate to ask for help. If our two pit neighbors didn’t help us at Nelson Ledges we might not have finished. The heat and lack of rest was tough on the 3 of us. I love  having Decal fueling the car. Gives one driver an extra break before they drive.

If you have money message Low Tide Motorsports.  I was very pleased with the service I received at Sebring.  Professional level guys who know how to wrench.

At Road America I just threw a message out on the Wisconsin Miata forum to see if someone could help run errands at the track. I offered them like a hundred bucks a day, in the end they didn't want to accept the money because they had so much fun and had to experience "real" racing.  Just having somebody who sole job it is is to run around and get food and parts and beverages, its really helpful in improving the overall experience of the weekend.

I'll have to remember that I'll probably just look for a few drivers, and go from there. thanks for the suggestion.

There are some of us that just crew/cook.

And I'll jump the wall for anyone, as long as I'm not busy with our car, or dinner.

I will lend a hand to any team needing a quick hand as well. Only part is jumping the wall.... not so much as I'm getting old and might break.

If you have teams around you and they are on track running most will lend a helping hand during a fuel/service stop, just ask.
