Todd K
Just an update on the Palm Beach International Raceway situation. This past week Portman Industrial, the potential buyer proposing warehouses to replace the track, has pulled their applications for zoning change requests and other submittals that would have been necessary for them to acquire the property and build. So this appears to be dead for now. There's another group, Formula Race Promotions - headed by Danny Sullivan - has been working to announce a new track facility in Martin County, approximately 20 minutes north of PBIR's location. With Portman now apparently pulling out of the deal - PBIR fate is unknown - but it's a lot less expensive to rehab what exists rather than try and build a new track and facility IMO, but FRP says they are looking at the new site in Martin County and committed to that. Time will tell - maybe we'll be back at PBIR some day!!! We certainly don't need to lose any race facilities. But a new race track with karting, road course, and drag racing would be a welcomed facility!!
