jim161c
The VPI list the BMW E36/5 318ti at 350. The VPI on the calculator is factored at 485. Why the difference?
Grufton
There was a fairly lengthy thread on (and off) this topic a little over a year ago, see: https://forum.champcar.org/topic/22270-e36-compact-same-as-e36-for-swaps/ Edited August 3, 2022 by Grufton
gavro
This is an interesting find and probably worth a tech desk submission / VPI adjustment request. I'm guessing it's based on rule 4.5.7 - Vehicles must use the highest valued model from its generation (i.e., – E30s would use the M20B25 as the starting point), and they are taking the VPI of the E36 M52B28 328i. Of course as I assume you know, the 318ti is not really an "E36" - it's essentially an E36 in the front and an E30 in the rear and is saddled with very small tank. Doesn't seem right to me. EDIT - Was not aware of the prior discussion. Guess I know what I'm doing over lunch. Edited August 3, 2022 by gavro
