La Familia
Thanks to everyone for a great event! If anyone got a picture of the #1 car audi rally replica with the brakes glowing please post. it doesnt have to be good, any pic will do.ThanksI have a mental picture of your Audi in T2 with sparks shooting out of the LF wheel at around 2am, just after you passed me on the front straight. Five turns later I watched your tail lights keep going straight at T7 while the other cars made the right turn. Bummer!I'm still amazed how many motors and tire wall impacts your car and crew was able to endure! Well done!--Mark

Guest Superdave
These guys are notorious for engine swaps! So we were talking about tryin to save a step for the next race and just show up without the engine installed, that way we don't have to remove one. Start installing the engine when green flag dropps. Wonder how many bonus laps we could get out of that?Nah, nevermind, we don't go racing just to practice engine swaps. Really! Five turns later I watched your tail lights keep going straight at T7 while the other cars made the right turn. Bummer!Yea that was me it was amazing how well the brakes were still working long after metal to metal. I was adding metal to the disk and pushed the piston thru the backing plate on the pad. when they failed at T7 it was sudden and total loss of braking ability. I think i melted the seals and lost hyd pressure. I didnt hit the tirewall too hard so the only body work that was damaged was the front spoiler, The brake repair took much longer. I'm still amazed how many motors and tire wall impacts your car and crew was able to endure! Well done!--MarkThanks, we would have rather been driving but we had fun wrenching too. We really do use junkjard used motors, trans, and parts. they can and do fail. I was surprized how many cars finished, and the great driving by everyone! I had a blast. Anyone get a picture or video?Matt G
Guest Methius
I was adding metal to the disk and pushed the piston thru the backing plate on the pad. Same thing happened to us with 30 minutes to go in the race! At least we got 4 events out of those pads..
3G
I was told the seals didnt fail, I wore enough of the piston away to allow it to come out of the bore. I had never seen a failure like this.

Guest bryan
Hey Matt,Here's a pic of my hot Miata brakes when the RR caliper wouldn't retract. I thought it might loosen up after a bit of driving, but I could barely get it up to 25 mph as I drove it down the block so I turned around and this is what I saw after I parked . . .--Bryan
