Hey there Chumps!

Your ChumpStaff is all packed up and ready to head up to Calgary, some by air, some by land. The forecast calls for some pretty standard North West weather -- Low of 50, High of 50, 50% chance of rain. More to come when we arrive on site, size up the fine facility, and get some Chumps registered!

The event promises to be a ton of fun, filled with skilled drivers and great chumpcars. If you were sitting on the fence up there in Edmonton, drive on down and check us out. Bring the IT car, Pro3, SM, or the like, and register on the spot if you want (plus late fee, sorry). Everyone's welcome, EC cars too!

318? Wow, 2 or 3 wide through every corner then all the time, every lap. Just like rush hour or maybe more like gridlock. Seriously, car count? I thought I saw a while back 41, but this thread of bring on down the car makes me think car count is lower.

Just remember to bring "my" computer to TWS, and I would be more than happy to fill out the reports John, then you can get in your car and race. I don't know HOW you do it. Be at all those races, and not jump in a car yourself. SURELY you race a stint every once on a while, don't you? It just seems like you are spending the entire race orginizing the thing, and you don't get the chance to race. I sure hope that I'm wrong. Brie

John, NO offence is taken, and NO apology is needed. If you read my reply, I was not upset at all, I just wish that you could get into a car and drive a stint every once in a while.

Now HERE comes the "Shame on you, Chumpers" part of the letter. Because of our location, TWS is the CLOSEST track to where we live, and it will be a 1,200 mile round trip for us to go there this July JUST TO VOLUNTEER. Now if we can do that, SURELY you Chumps that live in areas where the tracks are more numerous, and closer together, could go out to a track and volunteer if your car can't compete that week.

i think just a report after the race would be fine.to be honest i really just want to know what type of cars are there and how they finished.heck we all have a favorate type of car mine is the rx7 so each time a event is going on i always check to see if a rx7 is in it and were it finished.im also a huge nissan fan...and love the miatas mainly because its mazda.

if there is a event somewhat close to me id be more than happy to come out and do the race reports for you unless i have my car in that race

I need to take 30 minutes each day and go pound on some sheet metal, or sit behind my mill and make chips, or work on a race car. Relax. Hey there all,

Sorry for such a long absence from the web. The hotel's wireless has failed us, and other wireless connections have been less than stellar. I've commandeered a chump's phone and have tethered it and am running up his data charges. None of your ChumpCar staff make enough to handle the international roaming data charges, so we've been feeling a bit disconnected.

That being said, right now on Sunday at 3 hours into the race, we're having an awesome race. We've got the top 3 cars on the same lap, within 20 seconds of one another, changing leads as they pit, but all are pitting perfectly and are back out on track right at the 5 minute threshold, none gaining advantage over the other while in the pits.

More awesome racing going on here. The top 2 cars keep fighting for position. The Ford Windstar minivan, Car 1, has returned to the race after being out with a blown motor for a long, long time. Other cars have completed engine swaps, transmission changes, and other repairs. 3 cars are out for the day with irreparable damage.

Last update will be tonight, possibly from a hotel with functioning Wi-Fi. The chump needs his phone back.

Holy Cow. Is that the windstar someone put a SHO motor in? They only made 43 laps the first day, but watching a windstar race, even for only 43 laps, would still be worth the cost of admission!

That is correct.

They're dealing with a timing belt now. The junkyard motor had a bad one. Lucky for them, it's a non-interference motor. No valve train damage.. on any of the 30...

GUYS, I PROMISE TO WRITE THE NUMBER, (or numbers) Of ANY Opel GT's that regularly race the CCWS on my computer in white paint!! I know that two weeks ago, one of them did REAL WELL, (CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!), can anyone give me the numbers of the Opel GT's that compete? I REALLY love those little cars, and will always regret never having owned one. Brie.

Matt Sinfield of the local NASCC (Northern Alberta Sports Car Club) has the laptop that was used for timing and scoring. The results are saved on there. If you can convince him to dig them out, and post them up here on this forum, that would be the easiest way .
