Looking at some of the videos of the incidents - wow!  Hope everyone is okay.

Did you see issue with the first stint? I did not, was blown away with how patient most contenders were  letting their cars come up to temperature

Here was my view of the crash in turn 1 around 6:30 or so. The crash that took out Cone Crushers.

Holy sh--!  Can't really see what happened but I'm amazed you didn't get caught up in that.

I was watching your live stream when that happened. Very fortunate you made it through!

again- flagtronics showing green all the way to the incident- right after you pass it goes yellow.  At night I feel the flagtronics becomes very helpful as flags are almost impossible to see.

I can see the night T1 incident case being tough to have flagged sooner if the incident had just occurred, but I haven't reviewed it closely enough to have a strong opinion. The green flag conditions with stopped cars on track is pretty big concern especially when there's no rain/viz issues.

John Allen Special Race Report

We showed up with the Mini. Fixed a small boost issue Friday. Fixed an even smaller boost issue during our 1st stop on Saturday. Otherwise drove a clean race, turned laps, and hoped for the best. Ended up 11th overall and 2nd in B Class. Drove the car on the trailer. Couldn't have asked for a better result during a championship race with the caliber of cars out there.

It was an attempt at wit and a broad generalization aimed at the typical impatience seen in driving during the first hour of a long ass race.

We had a flawless race but not the pace to compete in B class. Always a great day when you don't run into any issues and can adhere to your pre-race pit strategy. Really not much more we can do to that car to make it competitive other than dropping it into F class.

It was like the Red Sea parted and just let me drive thru the middle, or Days of Thunder style. I was fully committed entering 1, so yes, very fortunate.

My race report.  I drove the 464 Danger Racing Lexus from 10-12. It was awesome. It finished 3rd. I kept my streak intact of 5 years in 5 different cars making impound in this race. Yee ha! I would claim lucky charm in this race but keep reading because it gets worse.

I got in the 917 Cone Crusher 944 at 6pm. Somebody in the uga mustang spun out in turn one and came across the track and I nailed them at about 80mph. It hurt like hell and smashed the car badly. I have a sore tailbone but otherwise all is well. Glad the guy in the mustang was also not injured. I can’t say enough about how good Schroth enduro belts are. You can tighten the hell out of them, which I do. I didn’t budge much when I hit. Keep your belts tight

Y’all keep ‘em on track out there, see you at the next one.

That car you barely missed on the outside was absolutely nuts.  A few inches away.  I'm getting chills.

Absolutely had a great time racing with everyone- really as always. So glad you and UGA driver are both okay @Rodger Coan-Burningham. Had a blast racing with you :)

Here is view of the collision at 6:30pm (37:10 in video) from my mirror - it looks gnarly. In the heat of it I felt like I held it down as low as I could but it looks like I maybe could've made more room. Idk if it would have helped anyone, UGA came back across the track a bit.

So If I would have come 5th in B class in my Miata they would have given me $525?

That's a @Bill Strong question. I merely started the thread with his permission and he edited it.

As long as you met the requirements. Correct stickers on the car, Mazda Motorsports account, and picture of you in your driving suit with the Mazda patch.

GBU 2 sec/lap slower than the winner while only being third fastest behind 2 Porsches. (Only 5 hundredths ahead of the fourth fastest, a Miata, as well.)

Guess the pitchforks will be put away for a while. Right?
