JustinHoMi
Is there any way, in future results, that we could get the vehicle make & model for each entrant listed in the final results? The team name & car # usually isn't descriptive enough to be able to figure out who is who. Most of us don't have memories that good Justin

At some point during the reporting it is common that the car numbers, team names, and car year, make, model is stated.
hongisto
I completely agree with this request. As a matter of fact, I don't even really care about the team name...I just want to know what kind of car it is. Same goes for live race timing. It does me no good to know I'm 2 laps down to "Dog Poo Racing", but it would be useful to know I'm 2 laps down on the brown Miata.

JustinHoMi
As a matter of fact, I don't even really care about the team name...I just want to know what kind of car it is. Agreed. If the fields are set, how about replace the team name with the car make & model? Or alternatively, just be creative and put the make & model in the same column as the team name.Justin
JustinHoMi
You do realize that there are teams out there that have followers? Family and friends that look up to see how "Blitzen Benz" did, or "EggBoy Racing." It leaves everyone a little flat when they look to find their team and all they see is "1988 Honda Civic." And what happens when we have 10 Honda Civics in one race?If you're that intent on following the cars, buy a program. (Hey! Can I get some kraut on that dog, too?)Of course... that's why I suggested putting the make & model in the same column as the team name. Nothing special needed for that, as long as the column for the team name will support enough characters.
parid
They don't support that many characters. Although, there are plenty of fields we don't use. Like last name, class, ect that could be used.
cpmskinny
I think that would be a great idea Justin!

Race Control chisek Posted July 8, 2011 Race Control Report Share Posted July 8, 2011 It's not going to happen because we don't have the info. When a team registers for a race we ask for car make and model. About 2% of you actually give us this info. Without it we don't know what you are running and we are too busy to chase you down during the weekend to find out. Not going to happen. JustinHoMi
Really? It's a required field on the website, in the same form as the car no. and transponder no. It forces you to enter in the year, make, and model when you're adding the car & transponder numbers. I just tried to leave them blank, and it wouldn't let me. JustinParcher
I know we've put it in every time... maybe because we're a bunch of thorough, boring engineers.
Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted July 8, 2011 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted July 8, 2011 I know we've put it in every time... maybe because we're a bunch of thorough, boring engineers.Apparently I am a "less boring" engineer.I think I put "Hodge Ramtegra" when we had the honda dodge hybrid. Now that it is a VW /Honda hybrid I entered it as the "VW Integuan Type-R".
hongisto
That's what the car numbers are for.In a 70 car field, I'm afraid I don't have all the car numbers memorized.
Richard
In for every driver's dog's name and favourite beer alongside the timing info...!
mostmint
The next iteration of the registration system will not be as forgiving.Care to look into the crystal ball and tell us when the new registration system is coming? I know you guys are busy with the races and setting up next year races.
coolcars44
i think just a simple car make beside the team name would be easy like mazda ford chevy vw nissan we really dont need the year or more info just the brand
