Nashville - Hard on tires?

Recommended Posts

Nashville was a FUN event, but man, did we burn through some tires. Admittedly, we blew it a little on initial alignment, but we chewed through more rubber at that race than RA or Iowa combined.

Anyone else find that the track was a little more abrasive than expected?

An statement taken from some of the nascar boys....The surface at Nashville is particularly hard on tires. It's almost like running across a washboard," said Keselowski, who was fourth at Nashville in March. "The concrete surface just kills the tires, so tire management really comes into play.

The Monte Carlo ran 400 plus TW and the tires wore good. We didn't even bother with toe due to excessive idler arm movement. Edges wore due to a lack of setting camber(fixed that with shims during a pit stop) and toe but overall tread wear was good.
