Tubby
Looks like we've got some wifi here in the pits and thought I do some posting. My stint in the car is several hours away.Weather is overcast and misting. Track was greasy but the misting has stopped and the track is clearing up.#16 (Honda) was blackflagged for a dragging muffler. They pitted and fixed it. The bright green Neon stopped on track and now is in the midfield. Looks like they could be done for the day as the team is in no hurry to get it out there.A few offs in turn 12 so far. One was the MR2.I don't know all the roster but I thought I'd get this out there!
Tubby
#24 Bear Patrol is in the totaled (by a bear) Lexus and is looking real strong. #1 Porsche 924? is doing some fast consistent laps.#21 and #22 North Loop Motorsports BMW e30s are circulating strong. #22 is clearly the faster car/driver combo. Tubby
#4 Mid Engine Crisis - Toyota MR2 is running much much faster than their race here in June. They've really stepped it up. #81 Team Party Cats? - Black Mazda Miata is running as well much faster than a month ago. Folks have been really working on their cars. krek
Thanks for the updates Tubby!Folks gotta work on their cars to keep up with the bullzeye!
Tubby
#44 Tow Mater - Chevy Pickup that looks like a tow truck, is also running much better than June. At the earlier race they only ran about an hour before engine failure. You can hear the old school V8 with carbs rocking the paddock.#9 Fart Hinder - Saab painted with a roller has been in the pits a couple of times already. They just got the car put together yesterday so that's not a big surprise. Engine sounds really smooth. Chumpcar's own Tim Winker is in sawing at the wheel. Tubby
#20 The most interesting Chumps in the world - BMW e30 is running strong at their second Chumpcar race. They got the racing disease last race and they are twice as fast today.#43 Ambitious but Rubbish Racing - old school buick (about twice the mass of the rest of the field except for the tow truck) is running strong and looks like they've put in some track time since last race. Great to see!
Tubby
You can hear the angry roar of the v8 clear across the track today. Awesome! Got to go put on my fuel suit as our first pit stop is on the horizon. Hopefully more to come.

Tubby
Suit on, now for some more updates. #6 Porsche 924? just went sideways through 12. Collected it but the tires were screaming murder.#14 Chevy Beretta is painted gray with a "flying tigers" style toothy grin on both front quarter panels. Tubby
#33 Buck Fever is running pretty good and dicing it up with the Red Porsche that is very fast. The eyes in the deer head are glowing nicely under braking. Our new light set up is untested in racing conditions so we see how that goes later.#41 VW Golf/GTI? is looking strong and their paint job actually looks professional.First wave of pit stops starting with some new drivers testing their mettle for the first time. krek
TBR seems like a good group of guys... it's the car I have a problem with. Tubby and the Buttermen are a proper bunch of Chumps. The car is fine as long as they keep the sandbag under the go pedal... I fear for their safety if they ever uncork the E36.

Guest Packard Goose
Hey gang we've been busy with technical stuff at T/S and a few other race-related issues.\Here's the official update from the tower-Car 44 Tow Mater - having successfully completed a v6 to v8 engine swap since their last visit here - is out for the race. Car was clipped in the driver's rear (snicker) in T14, spinning Tow Mater into the wall. Damage to the front of me, Damage to the left of me, damage in the back... the impact tore the rear wheel hub/brake assembly from the axle shaft. #20 somehow backed into the wall at pit-in. Word is he was going just a little too fast, missed the downshift, spun. I wish I would have been there to see it. They just went back out after 30 minutes of damage repair (not including ego). Here are the top 5 as of this minute....1 Brain Nerds 99 Short Bus -13 Three Sheets -141 Nile racing -324 Bear Patrol -5Fast Lap - 33 Tubby Butterman at 1:55.
Tubby
#16 budgetty Veyron. Honda are back on track after a parts run to replace a front axle. #15 Green Neon is back. Don't know what the problem was. Now fighting fist to cuffs with #

Since the last race they've dropped in a 318-V8. Out with a broken rear axle after being punted by a passing car in turn 1. Hit the concrete barriers and did a fair amount of body damage.Fart-hinder Saab is behind the wall, looking for a water pump. Had some teething issues, mostly related to poor car prep (my fault, since I was the only one working on the car). Had trouble finding gears for several laps cuz the pinch bolt on the shifter rod was not tight enough. The car was also running hot, though I surmised it was due to improper bleeding of the cooling system. I had a used water pump among the spares to bring, but inadvertently left it on the floor of the garage in my haste to hit the road.I am running pretty much on adrenaline as I haven't slept or eaten much for the past several days. More later.

Tubby
#37 Honda Prelude has gone off so many times in T12 that they would benefit from offroad tires. #9 Farthinder Saab is behind the wall with a bad water pump. One is on the way from the Twin Cities two hours away. Should be back. Go Tim!
