Good morning Chumps and Chumpettes. A great field of cars has decended upon Wampum, PA, and we're just about ready to go racing. Check in here or on the ChumpCar Facebook page throughout the day for updates, and don't forget to check out Top Fool Elemonators' live in-car stream. Link is in the "BeaveRun Live Stream Attempt" thread in the "Discuss Upcoming Races" section of the forum.

At the 2-hour mark rbanks leads in the Saab 9-5 with their 9-3 in 2nd while Red Green Racing in their BMW 318 rounds out the podium. MR2 Biohazard and Tiger's Wood round out the top 5. Biohazard had a slight oil leak issue that cost them a little time on pit road but they are still turning the fastest laps of the race. Only one dropout to report, a Lexus ES250 of a team I apologize to for not knowing their name.

And then the rain came. Very few spins or issues as everyone corrected for the conditions. Top 5 currently read like this with just under 3hrs to go:

rbanks 9-5

rbanks 9-3

MR2 Biohazard

Red Green Racing

TFE Racing

Mopar4Life has joined the Lexus on the trailer. Crosby Motorsports has been having problems all day and have turned very few laps.

Just over an hour left to go and the rain is REALLY coming down. MR2 Biohazard is having alot of trouble with the wet, while the Swedes are happier than puppies in mud and putting distance on the field. Le Shadow just turned a 1:19 in the soaking wet. Some fun racing on a shiny track. It's still the rbanks 9-5, rbanks 9-3, and Biohazard on the podium. Red Green steadily running in 4th, and Tiger's Wood jumped into 5th after a clutch cable issue for TFE.

And at the checkered rbank take home the first ever team 1-2 finish in ChumpCar. Red Green takes 3rd and Bio and Tiger's Wood round out the top 5. Congrats to all finishing teams, and we'll be back underway at 9am tomorrow.

Sidenote: In the neverending ChumpCar Axis vs Allies challenge, with the declaration of Allied support by the Swedes, it's Allies 1st, 2nd, and 5th, with Axis taking 3rd and 4th.

Very sorry to say, but we are out. Lost our new engine very early in the first day. Pulled the car to a garage, with great help from the staff we found a junkyard that pulled an engine for us just minutes before they closed. We yanked the old engine out and had the new engine running at about midnight.

Took the car out, had it idling and fixed a small vacuum leak and such things. We were packing up our stuff to get ready to be at the track at 8 when the car started overheating and we discovered that the new engine had a bad head gasket. Sigh! The guys agreed to keep working pulling the heads off from the engine but regrettably we just discovered issue after issue. We recently gave up and went to bed. I feel so bad for the guys who invest their time and money and then they do not even get the chance to get out on the track.

Major disappointment this time. We had a black cat crossing the road just in front of us on Friday 13th, maybe that was what gave all this bad luck..?
