Boy Blunder
Just thought I'ld start a separate thread for pictures and video people may have from the race. Here's a few of the pictures I took. I was there between 10 and 3. Took about 1500 pictures. If you didn't get a chance to take any pictures and want some of your car feel free to contact me via a PM with your email, team name, car number, car description, and car color. Give me a few days to sort the file and I'll get them to you. No cost - just one Chump to another. They're probably not going to be the quality of the professional guys who were out there - but hey - they're free!![media=]http://www.flickr.com/photos/boyblunder2010/sets/72157632216065537/

Boy Blunder
I had a few teams take me up on sending them some FREE pictures. Typically, I'm finding 30-40 pictures of your car in my collection. They may not be the best pictures, highest resolution, etc. But it may give you a chance to see how much body roll you have or get an appreciation for the elevation changes at the track. Again, just shoot me a PM with your email, car number, car colors, car model, etc. That info makes if quicker for me to sort the pictures. skierman64
and another going back and forth with the white e36Nice driving and good clean racing with the BMW. I believe it was the first race for that car.
skierman64
Here's 29 minutes of my driving where I really got into a groove. The car was having some intermittent fuel supply/pressure issues, which cropped up at 1:40 to 2:10 in the video but the remainder of this video seems clean. I was passed by the third place BAR team right at the beginning of this video and it kind of woke me up and got me into a groove where I was turning my fastest laps of the day.I could have lowered my lap times by being more aggressive at turn 3 and using third gear at turn 5. However Turn 3 bites a lot of cars, so I didn't attack it any harder, and I stayed in 4th at turn 5 because it seemed to help the fuel pressure issue.I think I passed ~33 cars and got passed by no one in this 29 minute video.PS, What's with the asshat getting out of his car onto a hot track at 13:10.[media=]http://youtu.be/vhQ4v3s_mfk
dinanm3atl
if you carry the speed staying in 4(there is a lot of speed to carry there if you are brave) is just fine
skierman64
if you carry the speed staying in 4(there is a lot of speed to carry there if you are brave) is just fine are you talking about turn 5?
dinanm3atl
Correct. You can track WAY out if you want. Carry a lot more speed than you think.
skierman64
Correct. You can track WAY out if you want. Carry a lot more speed than you think.I agree, however our team captain asked us to not to use the exit curbing there in order to preserve the car. I wasn't always successful in not using the curbing, but I made an attempt. However that did slow me more in 5 than needed.
dinanm3atl
We have a rule like that as well. For that corner going over or on that curb(along with Turn 7) it is pretty safe
skierman64
We have a rule like that as well. For that corner going over or on that curb(along with Turn 7) it is pretty safe I agree but it wasn't my car and I wasn't the team captain. We are going to try to get down for the Feb race, I'll be the team captain for the team.
autoxmike
the Hong Norrth "Sumbich" #39 team had a blast! During the first stint i had a great battle for P3 with the #51 BAR E30. I'd pass him between T5 & T6, then BAR would motor me on tne back straight and almost disappear. I'd finally catch back up at T5 & repass. Rinse & repeat. Lotsa fun & clean racing. Finally got a jump into T1 after a FCY and was able to put some traffic between us. Well done BAR - I like forward to going wheel to wheel again. I can post a video of our battle if there is interest...
skierman64
I can post a video of our battle if there is interest...Of course, that's what this thread is for, post it up. BTW, what's the story behind your team name, Hong North?
yeha22
Of course, that's what this thread is for, post it up.BTW, what's the story behind your team name, Hong North? The story itself is a little long and doesn't add much. The roots are in a team that would do the GRM $20xx Challenge called "Hong Norr". Anyone remember the Petty Civic? That was Hong Norr.Fast forward a bit and some of the Atlanta guys (lead by Kevin Boswell) decide to tackle Chump and LeMons. Since that's the more northern part of the contingent, you get Hong Norrth. That's about the most abbreviated explanation I can give.
