Hey guys! Had a blast at VIR and wanted to take a moments to congratulate everyone on an awesome race! I'm putting a call out to all the teams who have pictures and video of the event. I will be making another music video if I can get enough content though I'm not sure what song to choose. Any suggestions?

Nice video, it is good to see the attitude of the Jetta through the turns. You were faster than me, what can I say? I will tell you this, once you got around me I tried your line and it sped me up. I knew you had been there quite a few times so thanks for the pointers out there.

thanks! oh, and great I'm giving helping lines to an already kick donkey team....

You ever think I could have let you around me for a reason other than trying to save the car? Once you went back into the pits, it felt like I just got faster and faster. Everyone out there, thank Donnie the next time you see him, and follow him if you get a chance.

Watched the video. Taking people two wide through the kink on the back stretch, especially when you were not really racing, was pretty crappy IMO. Check the 11 minute mark of the 3rd video. You could have really wrecked someone for no good reason. Wait a second and pass right after the kink.

Why does that bother me? Almost happened to me and it was white knuckles as I put two off at 80 MPH. Wasn't this driver, a different car but it sucked.

Other than that complaint, great videos.

First, I am not sure what you are calling the back straight, but from looking at my videos, it seems the only time I passed around the 11 mark was the #10 miata on the uphill esses. Plenty of room there and I was by before turn in at southbend; and as you notice he passed again 2 wide through oak tree; the tightest place on the track, so he had no fear of contact with me either. I try to be very cautious of contact becuase I have been put out of a race due to that. Having said that; if I bothered that driver, I am sorry.

I think you are looking at the wrong video. Check Chump3. At the 11:06 mark someone passed the Caddyshack white RX8 at the kink on the backstretch. Ouch.

I don't want to pick a fight, thuogh. generally good driving and nice lines. We were in the #10 FWIW.

Yep, found it. Again, same place and plenty of room to initiate the pass, although we did get close on exit. I don't think it was anywhere near taking the car out though, I slowed way down to accomodate the tight inside line.

Thanks for all the comments guys, see you soon.

South Bend is a tricky place to pass. IMO seeing that video the RX-7 might have intruded on your line dweymer. but as Jer has stated they were racing for position.

Hello all. I am the owner driver of the RX7 Caddyshack car. I remember that part of the race at the kink. I think we gave each other room., good hard racing, regardless of position. In fact, we never touched a car all race and ran hard. What a blast.

Our car "Toyotal Recall" Blue supra #7 wasnt much for the track, but we did have a blast racing with everyone. Hopefully we didnt get in anyones way! After our electrical fire, (Thank you to the batmobile team for wiring help!) We had our headgasket expire at about 3:30am, we struggled through until 6:30 am then parked the car to try to have enough left to finish the race on its own power. All and all a great time and a great track... THANKS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED, all teams were a class act - we had a blast! Worth the drive from Canada!

Hopefully someone has some video and possibly we are in it..

Thanks,

Joe Middlemiss

Agree. Car being passed was taking defensive early apexes. Any slight contact looks like a failure to track out and give racing room to passing car. I went 2-wide through there a few times (with cars that looked like there were being driven pretty well). Plus the run-off is the size of Maryland. When you have an underpowered car with horrible brake judder, there are only so many places you can pass. :D

This event had much more line defending that I've seen in my limited 2-race Lemons experience. I was frustrated at the time but now see it as a sign of better racing.

Thanks for chiming in Les, I agree it was great racing and that is all. I had no issues with your car placement, in fact I expected you to be there, next time I will ask for some grey poupon :D

I think there was more line racing because we could actually drive a line! In some (most) ((all)) of the leMons races, you can't race a line, you just go where they ain't. This was an absolute blast!

SPACE MONKEYS! Man did we ever have fun racing you guys. Schumacher Taxi miata here. Seemed like we were dogfighting on the track constantly, what a blast. Sorry about your failure during the night. I came off my rest period (sleep-yeah right!) and you guys were done. we were sad for that, can't wait to dogfight with you again in the future!
