Daytona Video

Recommended Posts

Here's a link to a video of my first stint.

Hopefully others will post links to their videos as well.  I saw a lot of go pros out there.

This is roughly from 10:15 to 11:10 in the morning.  I was driving the orange Miata, #73.

Daytona was a hoot.  I hit no one and no one hit me although I had a couple of close calls as you can see on the video.  Unfortunately we went out around 2:00 with engine issues.  I did manage to get into the sister car and do a bunch more hours.

Enjoy and hope to see you all again next year if not sooner.

ChumpCar put a camera on top of our Jacky Ickx GT30 #66 and I was just wondering if we can get a link to it.  Our own in car camera crapped out for my stint and the ChumpCar camera is the only view (rearward) of my stint.

finally a video that is mounted correctly...and finally somebody who knows the proper line through the horseshoe, lol

Interestingly enough, that is the line that I took last year. While using some of my video for Randy Pobst to help coach the girl's team, he informed us all that a shallow line into the second horseshoe was the better line for quicker lap times.

WOW at the car going to the grass in the trioval at the end of the video!! He did a FANTASTIC JOB saving that one!

notice how randy always hits his marks, is consistent and exact...and never seems hurried behind the wheel...always smooth

That was team Teggy another FL team.  They broke an axel at 130mph on the banks and that is what happened.. He was able to save it and get the car stopped without hitting any thing.

Our team "Stig's in Training" #143 VW GTI.  We were one of, if not the slowest top speed cars out there so indirectly a lot of you are featured in our video as you blast past us on the NASCAR portion.  Even so, we had an epic experience and are proud of our team for finishing.  So you all at Sebring.

Thought cameras mounted on the helmet were a no no?

+1

I would like to request that ChumpCar post the full unedited videos from each of the camera cars for our viewing pleasure. Thanks !

PS, please post the times that the videos were taken also.   :)

Can't.  We have over 32GB of video, all in HD.  It takes too long to upload.
