At least 44 cars teched, and I got pictures of most of them (I know I missed the KH Mustang and the Green Piece of Crap at least).

Album on Facebook here (should be public):

Nice meeting our guest official from the PNW (hope you can survive the weather) and Dr Chump from the Hoon Platoon.

I'm pumped and ready to go! Live timing as always available tomorrow. Good times meeting lots of the south Central region Chumps!

Tubby and I put some hurt on that keg. Maybe we should have kept score?

I was your guest tonight leading the pace parade laps in the Mustang. Is it wrong that I caught the tail car?

And we're underway here.  80something degrees this morning under an overcast sky.  52 cars took the green flag a few minutes after 8 AM.

We've had a few mechanicals already, unknown causes.  Because we had 3 service vehicles on track at once, we broke out the full course yellow.  For the most part the chumps were nice during that full course, we only caught one with their eyes closed :).

Over 50 cars taking the grid this morning.  Start was a double wide on the banking in front of the pits.  Epic!

Team PJS stands for Paul, Jay and Sergio.  Their SHO was the first car to win a crap can race that was driven to the event (raced and won then driven home).  That's confidence.  They've pretty much located/used/hoarded every gearbox in Texas along with their sister SHO teams.  There are at least three SHOs kicking it here today.

Holy cow we had some action on track.   A few multiple car contact incidents out there.  The teams are being counseled by Joey individually for their transgressions.  Beyond that we've got some great racing going on.  More than 40 vehicles still on course, a few down mechanical.

Whoops!

Chassis tore like tin foil in front of the roll bar front down tube. Car then twisted. Done for the weekend

SHO:

Ouch! Sergio jumped out of the car, took off his race suit and fixed the car. Tow hook is destroyed. Grief counselors are standing by.

Nice pants Tubby, way to blend in with the locals.

I drove from work on Friday.  Those are my dress shoes as well.  Noticed the keg beer tastes just as good wearing them.

Last time I wore shorts a complete stranger asked me if those were my legs or was I riding a chicken?

Three SHOs pitted together here on pit row.  The Hennesey SHO is all done.  Engine leaking oil all over the place.  They are packed up and gone.

Team PJS is out on track enjoying a DE event.  Between the early brake issues and the accident, it's just for fun now.

Team SHOtime is in first.

The order will change as SHOtime is coming in for a driver change and fuel.

Few teams have lollipops to signal their drivers where their pit box is so lots of cars getting confused and weaving in and out of the pitted cars.  When you're in the car, all the pit stalls look the same.

Team Operation (e30 318i) is also pitting at the same time as SHOtime.  If they don't break, both should be on the podium.

SHOtime is putting on a new front tire.

Zombie Response Team just pitted as well.  Ford Escort ZX2.  They have a great theme, the car has great livery and every team/crew/family member is wearing the team's Zombie shirts.  Love the team spirit!

Race updates are sparse because we're a little short-staffed here, part of the reason I flew over, ya know :).

At any rate we've had some great racing all day long.  The leader board is different every 1/2 hour.  Close and awesome race.

We had an oildown incident that caused a few slow pace laps while we got that cleaned up; but we're back to racing.  50 minutes to go.
