9 + 6 Hour Enduro at Barber Motorsports Park Birmingham, AL


December 10 - 11, 2016 One race scored over two days.

Friday Schedule:

1:00pm – 7:00pm Registration (Lot C - See Map)

1:00pm – 7:00pm Safety & Tech Inspection (Lot C - See Map)

1:00pm – 7:00pm Driver’s Gear Inspection (Lot C - See Map)

6:00pm – 7:00pm Novice School (Credentials Building)

7:00pm Gates Open - Move into the Paddock Area


Tech and Registration will be held in Lot C (see map below). Please make sure you leave enough room between yourselves to off load the car for tech, but if you don't need to tech there is no need to off load your car. Starting at 7pm the gates will open for Chumps to enter the paddock, everyone that enters must have a ChumpCar wristband. Everyone will be required to sign the ChumpCar waiver at this point as they enter through the gate. NOTE: Anyone arriving at the track after 7pm Friday or Saturday evening must have a ChumpCar wristband to enter. Otherwise they have to wait until Saturday or Sunday morning to receive their wristband at the Credentials Building. There will no Tech Inspection on Saturday. If you have a problem making tech inspection call Mike Morrison at 214-738-6072 ASAP. Tech: Teams must print all Safety & Tech Inspection forms before arrival and fill-out all forms before entering the tech line. Teams are also highly advised to have a itemized list declaring all performance modifications to their race car using the points system in the 2016 BCR. If you have your 2016 annual tech and have not made any changes to your car do not report to tech, you only need to bring your log book to registration.


Saturday Schedule:

7:45am Cars to Grid

8:00am Start Endurance Race

5:00pm Red Flag Endurance Race

5:05pm Impound (15 min and no protest may be submitted)


Working on cars is permitted during the red flag and all driver stints will reset for Sunday. We will grid up the top 10 from the Chumpionship class and the top 10 from the non-Chumpionship class for the restart on Sunday. All other teams will fill in behind.

Saturday Red Flag Procedure:

At 5pm on Saturday we will throw the checker flag on the lead car just like we would when ending any other race. The top 5 from the Chumpionship and nonChumpionship class will need to report to a quick impound on pit road. This is so we can do a quick check on the cars to make sure you are running legal tires or that you didn’t bolt on a supercharger for Saturday! After that you are free to work on your cars during the evening.


Sunday Red Flag Procedure:

At approximately 10:50 - 10:55am we will go full course yellow and pit road will close. If you are on pit road when we go full course yellow, you will be stuck there until after the restart. The pace truck will enter the course and pick up the lead car stacking up the field behind it. The course workers will then black flag the whole field and you will follow the pace truck into pit road following the instructions of the pit road staff, if you pit before the pace truck brings the field on to pit road (it may take a couple of laps to stack everyone up) you will not be able to enter the course until after the restart. Once all cars are stopped on pit road the race will officially be "red flagged" which means zero work is to be done to the car. You may remove the driver and put a car cover on the car, but that is it.

No asking, "Can I quickly....." or "I just want to .... really quick", the answer is no so please don't ask the staff.

At 11:50am (an announcement will be made) you will be allowed to fuel the car and put the driver in the car. You may put in a new driver or the same driver, because they will have had their one hour safety break.

All ChumpCar refueling rules will apply during this time, so everyone must be in their safety gear, not work on the car and have a crew member manning the fire bottle.

You may NOT do any other work to the car besides fuel and add a driver.

If you have a mechanical problem you may pull out of line but you may not enter the course until after the restart.

The field will then be brought out in the same order they were brought in under full course yellow behind the pace truck for the restart.


SR1 - Pit lane spaces will be assigned at registration.

SR2 - All of Barber MSP track rules must be followed. Find them at the end of the supplemental rules and read carefully. Closed toed shoes and pants are required on pit road at all times.

SR3 - No crew members are allowed over the wall until the car has come to a complete stop in the pit box.

SR4 - The Hot Pit Lane will be the exclusive fueling area. Fueling of race cars shall be completed by use of 5-gallon plastic jugs and funnels, hoses or other fueling adapters as specified in the ChumpCar BCR. Jugs must have sealable lids/caps. Metal fuel drums or other fuel containers and caddies with manual pumps (no electric pumps) and hose lines are allowed to re-fill plastic jugs but are not allowed for re-fueling race cars, unless specified in the ChumpCar BCR. All fuel storage must be maintained on the ”cold” side of the pit wall or kept within your transporter.

SR5 - All teams shall have one (1) fully-charged 10LB ABC fire extinguisher in their pit area. All teams shall have one (1) 10LB bag of kitty litter or other reasonable absorbent for oil leaks and/or fuel spillage in their pit area. Having a broom handy is also advisable.

SR6 - Drivers may remain in the car during fueling and driver changes may also be completed. All engines and electrical kill switches must be off during fueling. NO WORK ON YOUR CAR SHALL BE COMPLETED DURING REFUELING. 5 CREW MEMBERS OVER THE WALL MAX DURING REFUELING.

SR7 - All work and/or repairs that can be made to your race cars in under thirty (30) minutes may be executed in the Pit Lane; all repairs requiring more than 30 minutes time must be completed in the Garage Area. A penalty of 1 lap for every five (5) minutes of work in the pit lane that exceeds 30 minutes shall be levied.

SR8 - All team members over the wall during fueling must wear a Nomex driver’s suit, gloves and full-face helmet with their visor down.

SR9 - No open flame stoves or BBQs are allowed in the cold pits.

SR10 - All cars, used or junk parts too big for a normal trash can, empty fuel drums and anything else you brought with you must be taken out with you.


Pit Passes – Spectators and Guests: Teams are advised that any and all team members, family, guests who desire event access MUST purchase a Pit Pass through ChumpCar. They can be purchased at registration on Friday or at the Credentials Building on Saturday and Sunday (This will also serve as a will call area). Hours are: Saturday 6AM - 5PM & Sunday 7AM - 4PM. You must have a wrist band and to have signed the waiver before you can enter through the gate. If you arrive after 7PM on Friday or Saturday, you will not be allowed to enter until the next morning when the Credentials Building opens.


Overnight Camping: RV camping in the paddock is allowed on Friday and Saturday night. The cost is $50 for the weekend payable to ChumpCar at Registration. We are paying quite a bit extra to allow the teams to camp, please help us cover some of this cost by working with us on the honor system.


Power: Power is available at Barber. The cost is $25/day for power on pit road (100v/15amp and 110v/30amp). We will be selling the tags for Barber at Registration. Barber also has power in the paddock area in the Level 2 Upper Paddock and Level 3 Lower Paddock. The cost is $25/day for 110v/15amp and 110v/50amp.


Barbecues: BBQ’s are allowed in the transporter parking area and thirty feet (30’) outside the cold pit area, provided all BBQ’s are supervised at all times, a fire extinguisher is within 15’ of the open flame, and all open flames are (at a minimum) 20’ from all race cars, fuel storage or other flammable sources.


Concessions: The food concession stand will be open for the event.


Weather: We're racing regardless of the weather!

    The "central region" chumpionship is in Alabama. If you put the central region chumpionship in Alaska you would have even less.
