Fuel Cell Safety Question

Couple of quick thoughts on the cell install. It needs to be framed or caged and that is outlined in the rules, that allows proper anchoring. As was said before if you install it in that location it is in the interior of the car and as was said your drivers are out of the car unless you do the bulkhead. Last point of my concern will you use a remote fill tub? Trying to lean to the center of the car is asking for a fuel spill.

Just a couple of points to think about as I am always looking at safety as I am not a driver just the wrench.

Seems like if you enclosed the cell with a bulkhead, and ran a remote fill out the passenger side it would be way safer than a stock Miata. I always hated the location of the stock filler right on top of the driver and having to have 4 guys share such a small area during a pit stop is never good.

Thanks for the replies guys. Would have responded sooner but didn't get any notifications for some reason.

So sounds like bulkhead is the way. We will have a remote fill and plan to move it to the passenger side.

Thanks for the clarification.

Doesn't apply to the cell in question
