gr1vlet
This is very last minute, but CTM/GTD is hosting a iracing practice at Daytona right now. We are planning on hosting another one tomorrow evening if you can't make this one and will likely run more as we get closer to the event
Doc
Too late for today, but I'll be looking for it tomorrow and in the future. Thanks!

See you there!
CabotTeg118
I'm in. Luckily the street stock handles exactly like a fox-body Mustang...

gr1vlet
Let's do this again! We had a good group last time. Friday 2/24/17 Session name: ChumpCar Daytona Practice Practice: 7:00 PM (EST) Qual: 9:00-9:10 Race: 9:10-10:00 Race: Rolling start Unlimited fast repairs 2 cars, single class Cars: Global MX5 Cup - Iracing baseline setup Closest to 4 & 6 cyl chumpcars (~2:12 laptimes) Street stock - 500 lbs ballast added Closest to 8cyl 'merican chumpcars (~2:09 laptimes but harder to drive) You don't have to run the entire practice session so feel free to jump in any time, but you do need to join by 9:00 if you'd like to qualify and race. I'll look into a way of handicapping the street stock a bit more tonight and verify that the miata setup is correct since some people mentioned that it didn't feel normal in the last session. Even if you aren't racing Daytona please join us as the more people there are the better the racing is. See ya there!
Doc
Sounds great. iRacing is working on my software. Getting error message but they are working on it today so I should be there....
gr1vlet
Sounds great. iRacing is working on my software. Getting error message but they are working on it today so I should be there.... I've had a few battles with it as well. If you're still having trouble let me know and I'll try to help. Usually uninstalling the "iracing helper service" solves most of my issues - when you go to join a race it will automatically redownload and install the service.
Doc
Something about the EasyCheat is not executable. They logged into my computer today and have forwarded it "up the chain"....
Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted February 23, 2017 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted February 23, 2017 If anyone wants to do some forza instead of i-racing, let me know.
gr1vlet
If anyone wants to do some forza instead of i-racing, let me know. Apparently the next iteration of Forza is coming to PC as well. Hopefully online play will be cross platform. I like iracing but I miss racing Huracan's in a RWD, turbo, F20c swapped EG civic. I did manage to get GT4 for PS2 to run on an emulator the other day (I have no life).
Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted February 23, 2017 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted February 23, 2017 Before starting lemons in 2009, I was top 100 in the world at Forza. First time I ran Lemons, I was like "Holy crap, this is like Froza but IRL". I have been racing like crazy since.
gr1vlet
Before starting lemons in 2009, I was top 100 in the world at Forza. First time I ran Lemons, I was like "Holy crap, this is like Froza but IRL". I have been racing like crazy since. Haha I had a similar first experience, though I mostly played the GT games with a controlder as a wee child. I moved on to iracing and typically float around in the top 50-100 in the mx5 cup (not nearly as impressive as top 100 amongst millions of Forza players). My first time in a racecar (and first time ever on a racetrack at all) at NCM in 2014 I managed to get within 1s of my team mates who have been at it for several years. Interestingly I get faster on the sim after every real-life race and vice versa. The physics aren't quite 1:1 with reality but the traffic management certainly is close. Administrators E. Tyler Pedersen Posted February 23, 2017 Administrators Report Share Posted February 23, 2017 I don't have iRacing at all. One of my friends who lives close to my FW house has it and we used it to practice on COTA. It was helpful to learn the track. When we get all moved into the new house I'll probably look into building a setup of some sort.

gr1vlet
Results from the test session. I'd like to run one per week until the race, let me know what dates would work best for you! Thanks to everyone who ran, hopefully we can get more to stay for the race session next time. I'll work on balancing the cars better. Edited February 25, 2017 by gr1vlet

DRVOLKS
Thanks you for hosting Need to setup the SS to keep the top end down a bit 140+ MPH is a bit high for a Chump car that weighs that much. gr1vlet
Sorry this is last minute, but let's do it again! Sunday 3/5/17 Session name: ChumpCar Daytona Practice (no password) Practice: 7:00 PM (EST) Qual: 8:30-8:40 Race: 8:40-9:00 Race: Rolling start Unlimited fast repairs 2 cars, single class Cars: Global MX5 Cup - Iracing baseline setup Closest to 4 & 6 cyl chumpcars (~2:12 laptimes) Street stock - 500 lbs ballast added Closest to 8cyl 'merican chumpcars (~2:09 laptimes but harder to drive) You don't have to run the entire practice session so feel free to jump in any time, but you do need to join by 8:30 if you'd like to qualify and race. If desired we can run a single car. This might be better for practicing "racing" in larger groups. Feedback appreciated! See ya there! CabotTeg118
10 hours ago, Doc said: AGGGGGHHHH. Completely forgot about it. Next time: Calendar reminder. Hope you had a good turnout @gr1vlet! I'm sure we'll set another one up for this week. We had a pretty good turnout - 39 drivers throughout the session and 15 started the race. I think RJ still needs to work on the BoP a little bit. The only way he could get close to the street stock time running the Miata was when I pushed him down both straights (which usually resulted in a giant NASCAR-style crash in the trioval).
