If you're reading this, you're too late for the early bird discount. But, I'd bet on most forum trolls already getting in.

Filling up nicely, this quickly became a favorite track for us after running it for the first time last year.

Are you prepared? Bringing a new car?

Will there be hotdogs and drinking?

That track is one of the best, and the late May date is perfect from a weather perspective.  If this isn't a bucket list track for people, they should reconsider.  Great history (former F1), awesome elevation changes, a lot of variety in types of corners, a few good passing zones - what is not to like?  OK, so your car will roll away in the pit lane if you don't put it into gear - you can handle that!  Just remember to have a LOT of respect for the corners where the guardrails are close (laces of the boot and the place where the long course meets the short course in particular)

No way.... you are a A&D?

I may need intravenous fluids. ....

Sorta.  Our teams have a bit of what you might call....overlap.

I raced with Tyler a few times last year.  He is racing Watkins with us.

Same people, different cars.

We are in for our first time to Watkins.  Pretty pumped to see what it is all about.

Any info on how tire wear was after the re-pave last year?

Track was smoother and faster.  I didn't see any more wear from anybody.

Yes A&D This year.  I have Mid-Ohio, COTA and WGI all within a month and I did not want to prep my car for all three races.  Plus I want to help Rob out like he did with me last year.  Please order yourself a new liver before this weekend.

Rob helped me out with learning racecraft and strategy.  Also who can say 3 new drivers won Laguna Seca the first race out?

I'm sofa king excited for this race!   New car, new team, same drinking at the lodge.  Hopefully if you're driving first the Candians are buying shots still.

Hahaha Canadians will buy shots and so will I.  I think my bar tab last year was $280 at the end of the weekend.

That tab did not include Jeff and I buying at the bar also.....

I think we spent close to 7 or 800 at Seneca Lodge....

At least Mark got a little Kumatose......

Planning to debut the complete 2017 rules optimized engine and aero package at this race.  Shooting for a 4 second laptime improvement over last year :D

Racing has no place in a Watkins Glen thread. It's lodge or nothing.

My team is attending. We also plan to initiate the new comers to the lodge atmosphere. As well to provide carrying duties for Tyler (if needed) and also be a bad influence to robs team too. You should get mark checked out for std's btw.?

We are so well prepared for this race we have a Saturday and Sunday team. To maximize lodge time.

I'll be there with Troy.  Last time I went drinking with the Canadians (Mosport last year) I needed a cab to the hotel and was puking within an hour.  Damn Canadians!  One more car bomb, come on!  Ugh.  But I will see you all at the lodge Thursday night!

All that being said, IK love to drive WGI and I enjoy even more racing there! BUT with their FCY action when a hot dog wrapper is on the track... well I rather be hung over after a great night at the Lodge. Sam is the best barmaid ever and she is worth the hangover.

If ever they decide to race more than an hour at a time, I may bring my helmet but for now I am just a designated drinker for out team- watch out!!

PS Mike- nothing against Chump- I know its the WGU folks that have their panties in a Nascar bunch.

I heard it was some ordinance that they can't have ev or tow vehicles on a hot green track.

The actions that led to their rule was racers Not slowing  at the incidents and putting track workers at risk.  That's why flaggers are not allowed  on the track surface .  The rule has been in place for years.

Maybe WGI should get themselves a Purple 35 Flag....

Whatever the reason, it is a problem at WGI more than anywhere else.

BUT they do have the lodge and that is now my main attraction!
