enginerd
Hello everyone, I'm Nate and I am throwing my hat in the ring for one of the open BoD positions. In the interests of a diverse BoD which represents all ChumpCar members, I think I fill some voids: 1) Somewhat of a ChumpCar newcomer compared to the rest of the BoD. I joined in 2014 (MPV table era), and I think I can contribute some valuable insight since I was not around in the very beginning. 2) I’m 28 years old, a good bit younger than many of the current board members. Since there is a growing ‘under 30’ population of ChumpCar members, perhaps it would be beneficial to have a board member from this group? 3) I’m very much a “numbers guy” (I will be completing my masters in mechanical and aerospace engineering in December). The current board has some excellent people who know business, organization/management, and finance. I think I would be a valuable addition as a numbers / engineering guy. General things about me and my opinions: - Racing since 2014 and have been very successful running a reliable BMW under the “Premium Dudes” banner - Absolutely love ChumpCar, wish I could race more but obligations and finances keep our team to 2 events / year - ChumpCar has excellent racing from a variety of platforms and I think that is the coolest thing ever… ChumpCar is the only place where you will see such tight racing between e30s, 3000GTs, Miatas, Civics, Lexus, Saabs, etc. etc.! The points balance system is responsible for this diverse racing, it’s not perfect, but it’s very good - I will always lean on the “no” side of any proposed rule changes before hearing all sides (a 93 octane rule may be nice but would have to hear all the arguments first), because rule changes cost teams real money and often have unintended consequences If you think I would be good for the position, I appreciate your nomination / vote. If you think someone else would be better, no hard feelings! I only want what you want: the best for ChumpCar (or whatever the new name is) and all members. Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted October 3, 2017 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted October 3, 2017 Nate is a good friend and teammate of mine, who I have known for about 6 years. He is one of the most ethical and trustworthy people I know. Nate has a real passion for Chumpcar and as he stated he brings a diverse viewpoint into the mix. enginerd
I'm removing my name from the hat (so to speak). I appreciate the words of support, there are some good candidates out there and I will vote for one of them.

That's disappointing...Not to say you had my vote already as I have not seen everyone's bios (and as a member of the current Board I should remain neutral) , but I thought it was a viable and good nomination. Cam Benty
Reconsider young man?! We need some youth. Your research is outstanding and it is quite obvious you have an open mind. I do not always agree with you on certain subjects but your ability to listen and engineering knowledge would be in valuable. You have my vote good Sir!!!!! enginerd
(since I have withdrawn from the running) I have decided to support (and cast one of my two votes for) Paul Kruse. Paul and I have a lot of similarities, so if you thought I was a good choice for the Board of Directors, you will find that Paul is too. - Like me, Paul is relatively young compared to current board members (early 30s) - He will also do well as the analytical "numbers guy" on the BoD. He has degrees in both mechanical engineering and computer science. Paul has been a ChumpCar patron since the very beginning and has raced some very cool (and unique) cars (turbo honda civic... mitsubishi ecripse). I think he would be a great addition to the board.
