DEE DEE
Matt, I'm curious and confused. You have 3 posts looking for drivers for ChampCar events but yet in the aer facebook page you refer to ChampCar as a "very subordinate series". Why such an elitist attitude towards this series ? Each series has something different for everyone to enjoy and it's your attitude that is indicative of most of the people that come from aer. Perhaps that is one of the reasons you lost the election.
Matt Connolly
Dee Dee, Sorry for taking so long to reply but I just saw the notification. There are many different classifications of racing. I was a pro driver in the Grand Am Rolex series for many years. I would consider that one of the highest forms of sports car racing. It’s also very very expensive. Aer is an amateur endurance series. Much lower level of competition, car prep, driver experience etc. My first experience with champ car was VIR in December. I was shocked at the level of preparation. It was almost as if they were making a mockery of auto racing. It was an older BMW that had a bar attached to the rear trunk with the beer tap, had glued beer bottles and cans all over it and beer caps. It was blasting loud music constantly. Clearly not a competitive car at all, but yet it was on the track. That was what I was referring to when I said it was a subordinate series. No self-respecting organization would ever allow car like that on the track. The next lowest level would be lemons. I refuse to even step foot there, since they purposefully make a mockery of auto racing. Forgive my perceived elitism, but I have spent my entire life pursuing the goal of professional auto racing, so it’s kind of a religion to me. I wasn’t being condescending when I said that champ was subordinate to AER, I was simply being factual. Yes there is something for everyone, but there is also a ranking that should be understood. And it has nothing to do With why I lost the election. I’m sure you just threw that in to try to take a stab at me, but that’s OK. I get where you’re coming from.

On a side note, racebar still has a stint for sale if your looking for a good time. 4 1
