2022 BCCR Petitions - Member comments period has opened

Recommended Posts

Went through all 85ish petitions submitted and sent in my thoughts.   I'm so glad our members want rules stability because I'd hate to see how many petitions would be submitted if we didn't!

or 7 minute pit stop that confuses everyone. Make it simple and easy to enforce.

Nothing confusing about a longer pit for taking tires, honestly I would say 5 MORE min if taking 2 to 4 tires during fuel.

Yes Banned tires are easy enough, but racers will howl when taking away their fav drug.

It confuses the ability to check pit stop times, both to investigate cheating the min pit stop time, and for team analysis. Add varying length stops and it gets harder to say “slow stop?” or “stop with tires?” or “stop with delay from local yellows?” or “stop with tires but done illegally fast?”

I’m willing to bet that it will be easy to police with everyone’s help along with the already set up Way Champ Car does things

I’m willing to bet deep down you know that’s a bad idea and not something that can be made to work reliably long term. There are other ideas on tires and tire usage that can be made to work if the membership desires that wouldn’t require this type of change.

You are destined for greatness. Well, if you could stay out of the gator swamp long enough.

Continental owns Hoosier.

There was an familiar face from Hoosier at the Gingerman event last year (Hoosier HQ is located not far away) who was observing a team with a set of Continentals on it. "Nothing much to talk about" was what I was told... If they get in this game, I'd bet it would happen as a Conti..

LOL there it is..

I can't wait to monitor the types/manuf/sizes of tires on 120+ cars starting on the grid at Daytona. And then monitoring them all race at each pit stop... Great ideas!

You don’t have to. There are 100 teams out there to keep tabs on each other. Did ChampCar officials take video of a tuttle pit stop? Competitors did and then competitors filed a protest. You put in any kind of tire rule and it will be competitors policing it, not ChampCar officials. If the rule is 1 tire per stop max, and some team does more, a video will show up documenting that.
Will every infraction be caught? No, but most will, and that’s a better % than we see with PUY!

Agreed - it's no different than if some team tried to pull a fast one and run R7s for a stint or two today.
