Mpls/StPaul. Builder/driver teammates wanted for Jaguar XJS

Recommended Posts

Anyone interested in working on a team build in exchange for having a driving seat ? The project would be in west suburbs of Minneapolis/St.Paul.

The owner of the car, Frenchy, has been active in wheel to wheel racing and campaigning similar Jaguars. I have expressed interest in joining him and helping to create a team of ideally 4+ people who can help work on the car over the next year or so.

Frenchy described as, "I'll build a nice solid reliable JaguarXJSV12 you help, We should have fun. That's my goal.
No experience required. Hopefully I can share my knowledge and not only will you get some seat time but have fun doing it."

Frenchy has the foundations; 1984 Jaguar XJS, a garageful of Jaguar parts, including engines, manual transmission, extra parts and a lifetime of experience campaigning these cars.

The prep would be in stages. First stage is to get it cleaned up, safe, and driving for shakedown with everyone on the team driving it. Then prep for wheel to wheel, give everyone a chance to try it out at higher speed at some track days. End state, "Finally enter the Champcar event at Road America. Where you get to enjoy the scream of that big V12 down those long straights. What Road & Track called thundering elegance"

If anyone is interested reach out to Frenchy

Tell me your going to swap this with an LS1????????????  Or do you have magic in the V12 as it might not hold up as well as you think.

Not trying to be mean just lots of experience over the years with British bits. Any way best of luck and hope to see it at the track.

Clearly you’ve never compared the two engines.  The Chevy is fine.  But not as bullet proof as the Jag.

And don't forget, the Jag engine would have to lose four cylinders to get down to the number that an LS has ...

Most Jag V12s suffer from issues with the engine management systems, not the engine itself.

Does the VPI include 100 points for the factory dry sump?
