Random draw of pit stall as it goes for all champcar races.

No qualifying.

Be prepared for cars to go 1:14 at Nelson.  That is damn fast but probable.

JSK did a 1:14 last year.  I expect the Sahlen Boxster's to be faster.  🤯

The last 24 ran I wanna say I remember a Sahlens Boxter running an EASY 1:18-1:19 pace. The in car camera feed looked like the drivers could make a sandwich while turning laps.

I wouldn’t use that as a race benchmark. I sat that by coming in cooling the tires and then go blast on it for a few laps playing around and trying different tunes. Not a sustainable pace. We had broken a hub and were out of race contention. Plus it was like a 114.9 if I remember correctly. But the boxters? Yeah you are right they may be able to sustain that after traffic clears out.

114 in the shade. A good 120* plus in the car. There were some very fast cars that weekend but it was hot!

We cooked an engine in the second red flag On Saturday.  We were all melting.  It was only pleasant about 3:30 am.  By 4 am it was miserable again.  This year looks better

Yep, not a good track for that tire for sure.

Yeah.  JSK never gets fast lap. Couldn’t get the normal tires and were stuck with what’s probably best described as an auto cross tire.
The race weekend was nothing but a flurry of unexpected tire changes.
