Administrators Bill Strong Posted November 1, 2021 Administrators Report Share Posted November 1, 2021 The nomination process was exciting. There was lots of buzz from people who wanted to be on the Board and from members who wanted to ask the hard questions. After 30 days we managed to get 6 nominees from our 4500 members. Today is Monday, November 1st and the voting starts today. The voting "booth" will be kept open for 30 days before the election ends on Tuesday, November 30th, 2020. On Wednesday, December 1st, we'll compile all the votes and on Wednesday, December 15th we will announce the three members who garnered the most votes. Those three club members will officially take office for their three-year term on January 1st, 2022. I have compiled the results, vetted all members that voted, and have forwarded the results, along with the raw files, to the BOD and CEO Dana Morrison. Tiffany Alexander, BOD Secretary, has access to the results raw files to include the actual election files on the live server. On Wednesday, December 15th we will announce the three members who garnered the most votes. Those three club members will officially take office for their three-year term on January 1st, 2022.

mostmint
I was thinking something close to 200. It’s like showcase showdown - closest to the number without going over.
Team Infiniti
As most all candidates and forum folks that care are here: No matter the actual #, we all agree it is way low, any suggestions how to get more folks informed/involved? Assuming I am no different then most of the membership I got the emails I see it posted on the main page What more can be done?

I pestered my guys all month to make sure they voted but I bet only a small portion of them did. To be fair, I don't think I voted or cared who was on the board the first few years I was a member. In this decade emails are increasingly obsolete and people don’t get around to that. Put it in front of people in a more direct way. Get the message out for quick response. Text people, maybe use Discord, present the candidates so the whole thing can be digested and voted in 10 minutes. 3. Like in government don’t the candidates get their own message out so what did any of them do beside the standard channels available?
hotrod
This is from the ChampCar By Laws. "Section 6. Nominee's Right to Solicit Votes. The Board shall formulate procedures that allow a reasonable opportunity for a nominee to communicate to members the nominee's qualifications and the reasons for the nominee's candidacy, a reasonable opportunity for the nominee to solicit votes, and a reasonable opportunity for all members to choose among the nominees." But the only way to reach members is through the Facebook ChampCar Garage page and the Forums. Not everyone is on Facebook and there are less on the Forums. Can't post through the Web Site & the ChampCar Facebook page those are run by ChampCar. Can't use the Constant Contact Email system as ChampCar cannot allow that tool to be used by anyone but them. So literally the people on Facebook & the Forums do the Voting and Petitions.
