Pitlane changes with Flagtronics

Recommended Posts

With the FT system coming on line as a required item in 2022, will there be change to pit lane procedures to go with it?

It seems like the pit-in stop for an egg timer would no longer be required, but what about the stop at pit-out?

Am I correct in believing that there is insurance or track contract language that requires all drivers entering the track to have been verified to have a wrist band?  There seems to be an awful lot of concern that the driver has the wrist band which makes me think there is an over-riding requirement somewhere in the system.

Just curious how this will play out and which parts will still be taking place.

Honestly, the pitlane stuff is the event directs issues. Right now we are working on getting the system working on track, and getting our staff trained on setup, running it, and tearing it down. Staff are being trained at trouble shooting, fixing issues, figuring out how to handle and trouble shoot issues during an active race, and to make certain what Flagtronics does matches with what our existing systems shows.  And then making certain our staff know how to fix it if it doesn't.
There is a lot to do on the back end that we doing to ensure that the summer date requirement is met.

The pit lane rules and procedures are on those lists of to-dos. We are just not at that point yet to publicly lay out the rules.
